Summary
Fred glanced down at her mouth, lips still slightly parted in the wake of their rather unsophisticated bout of mirth, and then back into her eyes before he leaned forward. Not all the way, not so that she didn’t have ample opportunity to say no, just enough that she didn’t at all want to.
“You could always stay,” he said quietly, sliding the pad of his thumb along her jaw while the other hand braced him on the wall beside her head. His breath smelled like firewhiskey and she swore her already-racing heart was going to pound out of her chest.
“This is a bad idea,” she whispered against his lips, though she wasn’t sure who she was trying to convince.
“Probably,” he admitted with a wry smile, tipping his head. The very feel of him so close positively invaded her senses. “Stay anyway.”

Isolated from his family which doesn't want to hear from him, and his friends, who fled the country months ago, he is alone and working as the Junior Assistant for Minister Cornelius Fudge, surrounded by corruption and Death Eaters.
Fudge is acting strange around him. He can't put his finger on it, though.

Summary
Judging by his assault of Flint, he also solved conflicts by violence. Which was a less than appealing quality in a roommate.
Percy spoke to him out of courtesy but all he really wanted was to read his copy of Hogwarts: a history, write his mother and go to bed.
Hopefully Oliver would understand to stay out of eachothers way for the years they would live together. Although as he looked up to meet Oliver's big grin under sparkling brown eyes, he had an inkling that was wishful thinking.

Her most recent memory is Fred coming back to life in the Battle of Hogwarts. She doesn’t remember marrying or falling in love with her husband. In fact, when the healer asks her if she’d like to see her husband, she thought Ron would walk through the door. Instead, it was George.
This story follows two, parallel timelines. In the first, Hermione struggles to find her place in a world built by a different version of herself. In the other, George traverses before, during, and after the Wizarding War, finding himself more and more drawn to the most dedicated witch he knows. Too bad she's in love with his brother.

Hermione had just sighed and picked her quill up again when the front door of the apothecary suddenly flew open, smacking the bell above it violently and letting in fat snowflakes, a gust of frigid wind, and a rather frazzled looking Fred Weasley.
“Merlin above, shut that!” she cried, desperately clutching at several sheets of parchment on the counter that were threatening to take flight.
The door closed almost immediately with a rather reserved snick considering the chaos it had admitted, at which point Hermione exhaled in relief and began restacking everything.
Once she had it back in some semblance of order, she pushed a few wayward curls out of her eyes and looked up at Fred. Annoyance turned to apprehension as she read the harried expression on his usually cheerful face; he looked about ready to be sick on his shoes.
She was just about to ask what was wrong when Fred opened his mouth and blurted out a series of words that made not one single iota of sense.
“I need you to marry me.”

Summary
“Are you alright?” Hermione asked Fred once she’d found a better arrangement in his lap. Trying not to interrupt a dare that had George and Angelina swapping clothing across the room, she added under her breath, “I'm sorry if I’m crushing you.”
“You’re definitely not crushing me,” Fred replied with a quiet, if slightly rueful laugh. There was a trace of tension in his voice as he spoke, and she glanced up to make sure it wasn’t a lie – because hang the game, she would get off of him if he was uncomfortable.
He didn't appear outwardly upset, but he certainly seemed jittery about something.
“Here, I can just say that I need to use the loo-“ she swung her legs sideways so her back was to his chest and made to move off of the chair when his grip around her waist tightened abruptly and she was pulled back into him.
Warm breath ghosted over the back of her neck as Fred said in a low voice that shot straight down her spine, “Hermione, I really need you not to get up right now.”
