When Goro Akechi's mother looks at her daughter for the first time, she cries.
There's no one around to see it, but if there was, they would likely assume that they were tears of happiness- feelings overwhelming her, with her little baby in her arms. Other, more uncharatiable people, would assume it was regret- remorse at having a child who will only drag her down.
In truth, it is none of this. She is not crying because of her baby- she's crying for her.
It doesn't get better from there.

“Fight me,” Sayaka says.
“No,” Homura replies.
She is scowling at the denial, but Homura merely frowns. They won't get anywhere like this, going round in circles. Every time Sayaka remembers, she approaches her like this, stripped of Octavia and her swords but still spitfire. It's annoying, yes, but it's also tedious, and feels more of the same patterns Homura always falls into with her. This is what they do, this is what they are: an argument. Every time she thinks she's made progress with her, it's reset back to zero. At first it was time travel, but now it is this, her fickle memory.
“I don't want to fight you,” Homura says, honest. “Doesn't this grow tiring for you, too? Hitting your fist against a concrete wall that never folds, don't you learn?”
“Don't you?” Sayaka Miki returns.
