He takes to talking to the passing schools and pods. He spends a few hours in the company of some spirited dolphins, taking in the gossip surrounding the newest pirate crews. They’re nothing special, the last being Ace and the Spade Pirates two years past.
It had been a shock when the Supernovas of the Worst Generation burst onto the scene. Usually one or two supernovas would appear at a time. Rarely would they make it long in the New World. Usually, they died out or were captured long before they could make any impact.
Then came Luffy and his contemporaries and their world-shaking powers.

Bookmarker's Notes
(But on the other hand, if it was this easy to steal one of the Revolutionary Army’s boats, then they deserve the reminder that they aren’t as untouchable as they believe. The assault of Baltigo was a tragedy and something she would rather this new future doesn’t repeat.)
(It’s also hilarious that this particular ship has an all too familiar top hat sitting on top of the navigator’s cabinet and a pipe nestled under the bunk in the corner. He should know better.)
Crocus has seen so much weird shit in his long life that, in all honesty, he thought he’d seen it all. The beginning of the Grandline is tame compared to most of Paradise, let alone the New World. And yet, as he watches a tiny fishing boat fly down the mountain and slam into the side of Laboon, he begins to wonder if this is an omen.
There’s screaming and shouting and a boy that’s clearly a devil fruit user starts yelling at Laboon and wraps his suddenly very long arms around the nose of the whale. More yelling, a couple screeches, a blast of lightning from a woman with a staff that creates clouds and a few explosions from a kid with a slingshot, and suddenly Laboon is more responsive than he’s been in decades. It almost makes him get up from his chair.
They dock and the group settles down, the man with green hair immediately lying down for a nap and the devil fruit user quickly joining him. Then the other three flop down beside them and start talking. None of them have seen him yet and he’s already relishing the shock they’ll experience when the devil fruit user and the man in the black suit both shoot to their feet and run toward the edge of the cliff.
A ship is sailing toward them?
He’s seen it before, though usually with ships that have recently come through. And Crocus can honestly say he’s never seen this ship before. It has a lion figurehead and the sails bear an unfamiliar Jolly Roger. It’s the typical skull and crossbones, but the skull is wearing an oddly familiar Strawhat.
One that looks suspiciously like the hat on the devil fruit users head. And is that…?
The ship moves unnaturally fast and he finally sees that the ship isn’t sailing on the water, it’s flying through the air! He’s up and on his feet, ready to yell at the people at the cliff’s edge, when the ship dips down and crashes into the water with a massive splash. Yelling and cheering comes from both the cliff and the ship. The devil fruit user wraps his arms around the others on shore and sends the whole group flying onto the deck.
And then, if things couldn’t get any weirder, a massive, yellow Sea King falls from the White Sea to the other side of Laboon, the whale acting as a barrier between the ship and the waves created by the splash.
The Sea King reemerges and opens its mouth and a yellow submarine with another unfamiliar Jolly Roger sails out as though this is the most normal thing in the world. The people on the ship with the lion figurehead cheer. A door on the sub opens and a mink in a bright orange jumpsuit walks out and starts waving back.
This is where Crocus just gives up. He doesn’t care anymore. He can’t care if he wants to manage a minute of sanity before he dies. He sits back down, grabs his book, and goes back to his dissertation on terminal diseases.
He’s too old for this shit.

It does not even cross his mind until he is two margaritas deep and Thatch is glancing at the Red Force moored next to them. “Hey, since we just got Ace to stop trying to kill Pops - do you think he’ll try to take Red Haired Shank’s head instead?”
Marco promptly spills his drink all over himself. “Fuck.” Fuck, fuck, fuck. Why did he not think of that? Holy–

“Oh! The Red Force is approaching.”
All activity halts on the deck of the Moby Dick.
“Say what now?” Cries Thatch, panicked sweat already dripping down his brow. There is a picnic spread out on the deck, but not nearly enough to feed another Emperor and his crew. No doubt the chef is already anticipating the absolute slaughter of his cupboards, and the untimely death of the recently stocked liquor cabinet.
Marco claps his hands together and all eyes turn to him. “Alright, step on it people. Izou, fetch Pops - Thatch, if I don’t see another three tables of food I can’t guarantee Red Hair’s crew won’t eat the furniture when they’re drunk enough. Jozu–”
Hiding a smile behind his sleeve, Marco thinks that perhaps it wouldn’t be too bad if Shanks came by for a drinking party more often, if seeing Ace this happy and relaxed is the result of it.
Shanks takes that moment to hurl another mug of something at the first division commander’s head. “Marco, join my crew already, ya’ burnt chicken!”
No, scratch that.
Fuck Shanks.

Summary
Somewhere in Wano, there is a little girl weaving hats. There is a Shogun, who has done nothing but hurt his own people. There is an Emperor, too, who Luffy very much wants to grind into dust. (There is also a party to be had in the future, once Wano has been freed.)
The samurai might not be prepared for what is to come, but the Straw Hats have a plan, and Luffy can't wait.
Even though he, technically, doesn't know what the plan is. Oh well, Robin and Torao will figure it out for him.

Summary
On Punk Hazard, Trafalgar D. Water Law runs into a pirate crew with the same jolly roger he remembers tattooing on the shoulder of a swordsman. He stares at a smiling man in a straw hat, barely out of his teens, and the green-haired first mate next to him, whom Law had met only once, years ago.
He thinks of Zoro-ya in his medical bay, asking Law for a tattoo with a desperation that had been painfully familiar. The utter devotion in his words when he had told Law, “My captain will be the Pirate King.”
(He thinks of pink feathers, string, a smile and gunshots–)
And Law cashes in the favor he is owed.

Bookmarker's Notes
The laugh coming out of Sakazuki’s mouth can barely be described as such. It is all smoke and dripping, raw hatred. “Dragon belongs in a cell, and so do you and that damned Straw Hat. I’ll take you both down and–”
“The only one dying today is you,” says Sabo, bloodlust spilling out from every pore of his body until Law nearly chokes on it. The fingers not grabbing the pipe are twitching. Yearning, yearning to be burrowed in the Marine’s face and crush the veins hiding just beneath that molten, warm flesh. So Sabo reaches out and does just that; wills Haki into his fingers and latches on once he gets close enough.
It is over far too quickly.
“All I need is for you to stand still for long enough.”
A shot rings out, near silent in its path. It whistles as it leaves behind the strings of a slingshot and curves through the air. In the span of a second, the course of the world shifts once again. The skin of a man, dripping, burning, and so, so, fluid - tightens into a semblance of a human shape.
Right between Sabo’s fingers, in the middle of Sakazuki’s forehead, gleams a speckle of blood.
“What?” The man gasps, hands grabbing onto Sabo’s arm and pulling, twisting at the fabric, but the blonde’s grip doesn’t slacken.
His eyes, nothing but a pinprick of light left inside those pupils, roll to the back of his head. The tiny, inconsequential wound no bigger than the sting of an angry mosquito becomes a river of red liquid running down Sakazuki’s forehead.
Into the cracks of the crow’s feet in the corner of his eye. Into the edges of his nose, clogging up his pores. It pools and drips and falls from the cupid’s bow above his lip, and down, down, down Sabo’s leather gloves until the worn brown is stained scarlet.
Then Sabo lets go and the Red Dog tumbles to the ground, lifeless.
His body, once so massive and immovable - a pillar of justice and strength, of despair and broken childhoods - kicks up a layer of dust and the man stays down.
Sakazuki is dead.

Summary
The Straw Hats find it a little weird that they don’t have a first mate. Whenever they ask, Luffy just laughs and says they do. Which is weirder, because none of the crew have ever met this so-called first mate.
A time-travel au, in which a captain and his first mate go back to the very beginning, and figures they can do more good apart than together. At least for now.

Summary
Finding out that Law had time traveled had been decidedly underwhelming. He’d looked at the newspaper, noticed the date, thought about Straw Hat-ya’s ridiculous luck and decided: ‘yeah, that fits’ before contemplating drowning himself in his cup of coffee because fuck his life.
All in all, per the status quo when it came to dealing with the Straw Hat Pirates and their Captain.
(At least Straw Hat-ya was there to suffer with him. Or maybe that was worse.)

There was this one hallway on the Polar Tang that had flickering lighting and made the hallway look like something straight out of a horror film—according to Shachi—that him and Penguin always claim they’re going to fix but somehow never actually get around to doing.
Law liked going there to plot.
Something that Shachi said made him seem even more like a deranged serial killer. Shachi was also currenly walking around with arms for legs and his feet as hands for the foreseeable future so he wasn’t there to comment now.

“I was a radio host for a good many years,” Alastor prefaced, hitting his teeth. If he was going to do this, he was going to strum as many heartstrings as he could. “This was before the supposed ‘Golden Age of Radio,’ so I had to build my audience from the ground up. I did all the normal music and news segments, but what I was known for was recounting criminal exploits. ‘True crime,’ I believe it’s called these days.”
Lute made an impatient noise. “Excuse me, head seraph, but how is this relevant?! He—”
“Of course, eventually, New Orleans ran out of mysterious crimes for me to report on,” Alastor continued, grinning wickedly at the Exorcist. At least he could take pleasure from her irritation. “So, I began retelling my own! I’d developed a taste for hunting people who didn’t respect those of fairer means, you see, and I was smart enough to not give myself away.” Alastor’s smile widened. He knew if Maman were watching, it was a bad look, but he was lost in his own performance now. “Audiences do so love an anti-hero! Such a prolific serial killer, who targeted rapists in the French Quarter and KKK members in the CBD. Who wouldn’t root for them?”
Sera’s eyes narrowed. “So you are a murderer.”
“I never said I wasn’t!” Alastor chirped beatifically.
Sera closed her eyes, massaging her temples. “Fine. Then, why do you think you are now in Heaven?”
“Likely because I died defending others, after months of volunteering at a rehabilitation project, preceded by a seven-year sabbatical during which I committed no sins,” Alastor admitted tersely, unable to bite his loose tongue. He tried to feel relieved instead of bitter. Fortunately, Sera asked for Alastor’s thoughts on why he was in Heaven, as opposed to whether he should be.
It didn’t change the fact that his dirty laundry was aired for all to see.
Including Maman, Alastor thought sourly.
The jury was once again in an uproar, hushed voices and muffled exclamations picking at the newly revealed information. Alastor half-expected a fight to break out.
Judging by the popcorn Angel Dust had somehow acquired and was sharing with Husk, so did they.
Entirely unwittingly, Alastor caught the eye of Charlie. She had her hands clasped together and was beaming at him, tears sliding down her cheeks. Beside her, Vaggie was giving him a constipated look, as if Alastor had broken character somehow. Even Lucifer was staring at Alastor like he didn’t quite know what to make of him anymore.
Disgusting.
