Summary
Tired of always being the one who couldn’t defend himself, Ponyboy Curtis decides he’s had enough. Wanting to learn how to fight like the rest of his friends, he seeks out someone outside his usual circle, a tough, street-fighter guy named Mikey, who agrees to teach him. What starts as simple training sessions soon grows into a real friendship, with both boys finding unexpected support in each other. As Ponyboy gets stronger physically, he also faces new challenges choices about violence, loyalty, and who he really wants to be. Learning to fight, he realizes, isn’t just about throwing punches, it’s about standing up for himself without losing who he is inside.

Summary
In the spring of 1944, the 104th Medical Battalion of the United States Army is disbanded, and its men reassigned to various infantry companies in preparation for their invasion of occupied France. For First Lieutenant Novak, this is less than helpful, as he has so far met his platoon’s designated medic a grand total of twice, and has both times found Sergeant Winchester to be the optimum combination of reckless, arrogant, and downright insufferable so as to make cohesive platoon function near impossible. When the time comes to move out, however, Castiel has to reconcile himself to the fact that men are going to go down and trust that Dean Winchester may well be the only person who can put them back together again. Soda closed his eyes against the panic clawing its way up his throat, still facing the stove even as Two-Bit and Steve spun towards the doorway where Darrel was standing, looking more frantic than either of them had ever seen him. Steve stared at Darrel with wide eyes and Two-Bit’s eyebrows rose, slowly swiveling to look at Soda, who was white-knuckling the handle of the spatula in his hand. The kitchen was completely silent.
“I hit him,” Darrel repeated, barely above a whisper, “and he ran away.”

A few weeks after Bob Sheldon, Johnny Cade, and Dallas Winston die, they make an unexpected return. Ponyboy is the only one who can see them, and for some reason, they're stuck to him, unable to move on.
As Pony tries to hide this from the living people in his life, things become a lot direr when it becomes clear that these three ghosts aren't the only entities that Pony's unstable grief has manifested.

Ponyboy tiredly fell back onto his bed, the springs protesting under his weight, and pressed his nose into the pillow as he rolled over. He glanced towards his backpack where an orange bottle and a letter from six years ago he had read a thousands times over were hidden away in several pairs of socks. His eyes drooped tiredly and he knew he wouldn't need them tonight. He had refused to let himself sleep on the airplane, wanting to make sure he was as exhausted as possible, and sleep was already trying to pull him down.
He hoped that the exhaustion would keep the nightmares of railroads tracks and hospitals and burning churches away for the night.

It's been six years and Ponyboy doesn't want to remember. It's hard trying to stay gold.

"Mr. Curtis, I'm not sure how else to say this," she pauses a moment, tapping the pads of her fingers against the cluttered desk before letting out a long sigh, looking Darry right in the eyes. "We don't know where your brother is. No one does."
Darry feels his heart sink as he gripped the arms of the old wooden chair so hard it began creak. Sodapop puts his face in his hands in both anguish and frustration. Darry, who was currently feeling the exact same sorrow, reaches over, placing a strong hand on his brother's back, patting it gently.
After a few moments of tense silence, Darry stands from the chair, eyes hard and determined.
"Then I guess we better start looking."

After a heat of the moment decision, Darry finds himself locked up for a crime he did not intend to commit, forcing the last remnants of the Curtis family to part ways. Two years later, he and Soda attempt to pick up the pieces of their broken family as they search tirelessly for their missing brother.A brother they will soon come to not recognize.

Out of everyone in his family, Ponyboy Curtis has always been the outlier. In his family, he barely looked like his parents. Soda shared his personality, hair, and eyes with their mother, and Darry was basically a carbon copy of Darrel Sr. Curtis, save for the eyes. Ponyboy fell somewhere in the middle. He got told he looked like Soda and maybe their mother if he was lucky, but he had very loosely looked like a member of the Curtis family. It never bothered him...until now.
Or...
