This one's an interesting one. I first came across this in 2016 (really), didn't finish it, thought I'd come back to read the rest of it later then never did lol. Same thing happened a few years later, and a few more times after that… And after this latest time re-reading it and getting farther along than any of the previous times, I'm finally deciding to bookmark it. Yeah, there are a few other bookmarks that I didn't finish but read the majority of, I don't know why my brain just didn't think to bookmark this at all the times I read it in the past. But here we finally are. Better late than never, I suppose. Now, what to say about this story?
This is basically a combination of angst and feels, both being doled out in equally intense doses. As for the writing itself? Cannot praise it enough. Imo there aren't enough ageplay fics of great, amazing quality, and this is one of the top ones for me.

They had a love of music and performance in common, for one thing. Blending their talents together into a successful group would take effort and a willingness to compromise, not to mention, a lot of hard work, like Tahmoh had told them the first time they met. Jared hoped they had the perseverance to see it through.

Several reasons attracted me to this story. First and foremost, I’d read this author's works a few years ago and really enjoyed them. The second reason being the tags, specifically ‘bed-sharing’ and ‘sleeping on top of each other’. As y’all most definitely know by now, I am an absolute cuddle addict. Couple that with this author’s amazing writing style, I was expecting a treat going into this. And… I’m ecstatic to say I got exactly what I’d been hoping for (and more). It’s seriously baffling how fics riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, not to mention a barely cohesive plotline, get tons of engagement while stories like this one get passed on. Y’all have no idea what y’all are missing. I can only be thankful that this author wrote as much as she did for this story. My mental wellbeing has improved immensely after spending time with these characters and their lives, and I'll be shocked if that isn't the case for you as well. :'))

Except, Sam reminds himself, this isn't Bucky. This is the Winter Soldier, who's gone completely, absolutely still like an animal trying to decide whether to attack or run. And Sam is suddenly, terribly aware of all the people around them: all the tourists and the kids on their field trips; all the families with their babies and toddlers; all the sentimental fools like him come to visit Captain America on an overcast Wednesday afternoon.
But Sam has also seen that expression on the men and women who come to his counseling sessions. He's seen it in the mirror more times than he cares to count. He knows that kind of fear and pain, just like he knows that the man who was once James Buchanan Barnes could have already killed him. Killed as many people as he wanted to, and run.
He could have, but he didn't.

So here's what was up. If you were wondering why there was a sudden influx of TW fics recently, it was because I was at my cousin's (read: not my room), and I didn't want to read the fanfics from my usual fandoms while I was there. Now that I'm back on my turf I thought I'd quit stat, but my mind was still fixated on this fandom. So I looked into this author's profile again, recalling their fics being filled with angst and plot. Having said that… I didn't predict it to this level. Like, HOLY SHIT!! When the author said 'this story is going to get a lot darker than anything I've written' they weren't kidding. Really, really weren't. At least this hasn't got full on rape...although sexual assault is still the case. Look, angst is angst, but when you have well written angst like this...that's when it's unforgettable.
