The words sit heavy between them. Stiles feels like they should mean more to him, like they should hit him harder. But he’s having a hard time feeling much of anything lately, these last few days especially. He doesn’t know what it is, but everything is five steps away and he doesn’t have the strength to reach for it. Scott is five steps away. He’s right there, and isn’t this what Stiles has wanted? Isn’t that what he’s been fighting for this whole time? Not to lose Scott?
He still wants that, doesn’t he?

“As opposed to sitting around uselessly?” Merlin quips, but he comes over easily to pour more wine into Leon’s goblet. He lets him, his eyes careful on Merlin to see if his eyes will glint again, the colour of fire against the midnight sky, so bright and fiery.
But all Leon sees is blue. “Thank you, Merlin,” he mutters.
Or: Five times someone finds out about Merlin’s magic and decides not to tell Arthur, and one time they realise that Arthur already knows everything there’s to know.

Summary
After the Battle of the Five Armies and return to home, Bilbo feels strangely restless. Well, the way his family tries to marry him off might be contributing to this. The One Ring decides it needs to understand its bearer better in order to properly manipulate him - the hobbit is proving unexpectedly good at resisting its influence.
The road to East is long and this was never supposed to happen, but violence was never Bilbo's preference when it came to solving problems - whether he was aware that a problem existed or not. The Wise and the Mighty might say that everything has already been tried against Sauron, but Good Hobbit Sense and actually communicating somehow hadn't made that list.

Prompt:
When Legolas and Gimli decide to try a romantic relationship, they plunge into it with the same amount of enthusiasm they direct at everything else in their lives. This does not directly translate to grace.
I'm picturing: first kisses that leave both of them with bleeding lips and pulled muscles; unexpected embraces that result in Legolas being knocked out by Gimli's helmet -
And of course poor Aragorn, forced to chronicle the course of his two friends' courtship by the category and severity of the injuries that the two of them sport every time he sees them.

Summary
Life after war has much more politics than Gimli thought, and much less Legolas than he would like, but the latter he knows (or believes) he has to get used to. Or: Legolas leaps, occasionally stumbling, into a new age, while Gimli can't see the wood for the (green)leaf.
"How do your people court then?"
The question was not as abrupt as it would seem, firstly because the news that his brother was courting had clearly left Legolas in deep thought for a number of days, secondly because Legolas had long ago confessed his curiosity about the lives and customs of Gimli's kin, and thirdly because Legolas' grace was well-known to be in his light feet and not his manners.
However, Gimli saw no reason to let him have his own way entirely. "And by my people do you mean the Longbeards, or the Dwarves of Erebor, or the wandering mender that I now seem to be?"
"I meant," Legolas said, "wandering jesters."
