"Anthony!" Dodie snaps, catching Rocky and the newcomer off guard. Frank hides a smirk behind his hand, pretends he's covering a yawn. Dodie levels one of her ring-laden fingers at Rocky and flexes it with intention. "You're late!"
Rocky is raising his hands in surrender when the unfamiliar man straightens his back, tightens his grip around his cane, and says, "My apologies, Mrs. Esposito, but Anthony and I got a bit turned around."

Summary
One of Matt's favorite stories growing up was the story of Battlin' Jack and Uncle Tommy. Jack knew that he loved it; sometimes Matt wouldn't even need to ask to hear it, and Jack would simply tell it if he thought that Matt needed it. When a headache was flaring out, lightning-shocks spiderwebbing from his eardrum to his eyes, or his wrist burnt from an unseen injury, Jack would tousle his boy's hair and tell him about his soulmate.

"So? How did Maggie find out, anyway?" Foggy asks, and the smile drops from Matt's face.
"Well..."
Foggy sucks in a sharp breath. "Oh, fuck. Oh no. No, no, no. Don't tell me—oh, for fuck's sake!"
"No, Foggy, she didn't walk in on anything!" Matt's quick to assure him, and yeah, thank God for that, because that would've been even more awkward and terrible than it already is. "She found condom wrappers. And possibly, the used ones in the trashcan," Matt mutters the last part under his breath, not that it does him much good, because Foggy still hears.
"That's it. I'm done." Foggy sounds like he's about to throw his phone across the room and Matt can hear him shifting, likely about to get off the bed and start pacing the length of his apartment.
(Or, Maggie thinks Matt has a girlfriend. Who happens to be his... casual sex Frank Castle. Somehow, she becomes the last push they both needed.)

Matt can't see Frank's face, but he can feel him—sense the warmth radiating from his body, the scent of his skin, the softness of his breath.
He can feel him—in ways that have nothing to do with his heightened senses—and for a moment, Matt feels utterly overwhelmed.
"Red—?" Frank calls again, probably noticing that Matt is on the verge of tears. "You want to stop?"
It's a genuine question, and Matt is tempted to tell him the truth: that he doesn't want this to stop. Not now, not ever.

"Didn't think you'd reach out again," Frank says after a long silence, his voice rougher than it was minutes ago.
"Honestly, I didn't either."
"What changed?"
Matt parts his lips, ready to offer some excuse, but in the end he only shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe I'm feeling nostalgic."
"And in your moment of nostalgia, you chose to call me of all people." It's not a question, though it comes out quieter than usual. Matt shrugs again, even if Frank can't see it.
"Who else could it be?" Matt lets out a smile, a small thing edged with bitterness and faint self-mockery.
(Or, since he was nine years old, Matt has learned to let go. Some things are easier; others not so much.)

"So, I was thinking," Red begins after they're done, a sheen of sweat still on their bodies. "I'd be easier if I had a phone number I could call. So I don't waste my time wandering the streets for hours."
He says it like he's joking. But his body doesn't lie. His posture is stiff, and the fingers of one hand are tugging at a loose thread in the cheap blanket.
It's not a big deal, really.
So, Frank becomes a booty call. A phone number Red can call when he needs to feel human for a little while, before he slips back into whatever nightmare he's chosen for himself.
(Or, they start off as enemies, become allies (sort of), Frank becomes a booty-call. And something else entirely.)
