She spots Whitaker at the bus stop across the street when she exits the building. She’s about to jog over and join him when she hears a familiar voice behind her, “Santos.” She turns around and sees that Dr. Garcia is much closer than she thought.
Santos gives her a quick once over. Garcia’s hair is still in a tight bun, but she’s wearing gray slacks and a green blouse. Santos can’t help but think she looks so professional, like a real doctor. “Oh, hi,” she replies, confused at why Garcia is talking to her. “Did I forget to do something? I can go back and do it right away.”
Garcia smiles softly and shakes her head, “You still owe me that drink.”

Summary
After a particularly hard shift at the PTMC, the ED staff decides causal drinks in the park are not gonna cut it. At a local bar in the city, a random, well-endowed patron announces all drinks are on him tonight. That’s when things get hazy.
Hours later, the majority leave for the night. Santos, eager to head back to Garcia’s, doesn't think twice when Whitaker assures her that he's alright over text, and to go home without him.
In reality, he's still in one of the bar's locked, single stall restrooms, scrubbing at his skin over the sink. A nervous glance in the mirror confirms the slumped figure laid against the wall still hasn't woken up - thank God.
Once he feels presentable enough, composing his face in the mirror, he gathers the mess of a man off of the floor and slings an arm over his shoulder.Back home, sitting under the spray of scalding water, Dennis prays to God that when he wakes up tomorrow, this will all have been a really fucked up nightmare - and in the case that it wasn’t - that Robby will at least not remember that the stranger he fucked in the bathroom was his very own ED resident.

Summary
Garcia knows Santos has been struggling with her second year of residency, the workload never letting up even months into it; and she’s all too aware of the tension with which Santos’s been carrying her body these past few months. As much as Garcia has been insisting that she take care of herself lest she risk burnout, Santos has quite the stubborn streak: it’s clear that she’s been running on fumes this past week, her body essentially comatose right now beside her. She regards Santos’s sleeping figure and resolves to wrest as much rest out of the following days as Santos will allow her to—and there’s no doubt she’ll be met with protest, albeit futile, at every effort.
Santos is a dense ball of tension as is, but Garcia wants to tease out any remaining coils of it that linger underneath, delicately working at them, dredging them up until she can eradicate the tension entirely.
