Summary
In which Quirin, in a last ditch attempt to save his newborn son, stole the Moonstone and used its power for his own gain. Little Varian, now the host to the Moonstone, was hidden away from the world with his father, auntie, and uncle. Now freshly eighteen, Varian begins to feel the call of the outside world, beckoning him out of the safety of home and into the great unknown.

Summary
The AI goes back to admiring the cake with a simple happiness that feels exaggerated, almost absurd—especially considering that a computer program won’t actually be able to enjoy the treat in any way. But either this realization is taking a while to sink in, or Shin's AI just didn’t care, because it looks perfectly content to take in the sight of the cake alone.
This isn't the reaction Sou had anticipated.

When Kanna re-enters the room, flicking water from her wet hands at Shin, he offers her a handful of the sweets, which she accepts with a glance at Keiji. He isn't sure what her expression is trying to convey, but he's sure that he's seen Joe make the same expression whenever Sara summons her resolve and makes a flirtatious comment directed at Ranmaru.
He doesn't understand why that look is being associated with him and Shin, until he spares a glance at him, and notices that his heart's speedy pulse is not caused by hatred for the man, but something else entirely.
