Dick’s brain does not— will not— process the word.
He stares at the phone like it’s just said something in a language he doesn't speak.
De-aged.
The word sits there, heavy and wrong, refusing to connect to anything meaningful. His brain skids around it, searching for context, logic, a punchline— anything that makes sense.
It doesn't find one.
“...What?” He finally says, his voice flat despite how hard his pulse has started to thud in his ears.
Bruce doesn't answer right away.
Jason gets turned into a toddler and it's up to Dick to take care of him.

"What happened to you?" I suck in a deep breath, running my eyes over the extent of his injuries. Slowly, I lift my fingers and allow them to linger on his cheek, careful not to touch a particularly deep and swollen cut.
Red, hot anger shoots through me as I take in Xavier’s fresh wounds and broken figure. His expression is blank as he leans against the border of the gates, as though his senses have become numb from all the pain. I know exactly who the culprits are— the faeries. The mere thought of those cruel creatures leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
"They were hunting," Xavier gasps, slightly breathless. A look of agony flashes across his features and my heart clenches. As if ashamed of himself, he tears his gaze away from mine and drops it to the ground. Xavier’s voice is trembling when he finally speaks, “and I was their prey."
