Silver takes a moment. She looks over the stranger. All the way from boot, to thigh, to chest, until she’s at a soft face framed by black hair. She’d be willing to wager that before this girl was turned, she was probably the same age as her.
She’s cute. Real cute, in that prissy-femme way Silver has always had a weakness for.
“Or an idiot,” the woman snaps, raising a pursed arm towards Silver. “Are you even here right now, or are you already blacked out?”
“Lord,” Silver rolls her eyes. She’s not cute enough for all that. “Do you have any goddamn manners, lady?”
“Ms. Ha,” the woman corrects. “That’s who I am to you— now that you’ll be working for me.”

Lilah Silver isn't getting a wish today. Her patron is on the ropes and the enemy ritualists are knocking on the door, at this point she probably isn't going to make it out of this ritual alive.
And yet, the worst part isn't that she's about to die, its that the pompous, bratty vampire on the enemy team is going to win. At this Silver can do nothing but watch and wait for them to execute her and her team, I mean, who would waste a wish to save their lives? Who would be so kind? No, who would be so stupid?
Certainly not the vampire cruelly grinning ear to ear at her, there wasn't a single chance.

Abrams brings Rem to work with him on a paperwork day, and while he's fetching lunch, Geist visits and entertains the junior detective with a small game.

“Uh oh,” she smiled dopily. Her fluffy tail began to wag.
“What?” Holliday’s eyes snapped up, looking for danger. Her free hand was already on her pistol.
“The beast got a whiff of you. And she liiikes it,” Silver said in a sing-song voice. “Time to let her out, ‘m afraid.”
