Summary
Zuko decides to fight Azula in the Crystal Catacombs. This sets of a sequence of events that leads to Zuko being Aang's tour guide through the Fire Nation. While together, the GAang and Zuko get to know each other better while learning about each other's cultures. Zuko and the GAang bond and become closer than any of them could have predicted, but that might not be enough to save them from the terrors waiting ahead.

Summary
A young, lost, scared Zuko finds himself alone in an Earth Kingdom forest and accidentally joins a gang of other kids fighting against the Fire Nation. He lives there for a couple years until the Avatar shows up at their hideout and end up getting recruited to help stop the war that his family had been razing across the world for over a hundred years.
Or, a Jet adopts Zuko/Big Brother Jet fic, because I want to have that.

Lu Ten survived this Seige of Ba Sing Sei and lives to witness Ozai almost using his son as a human sacrifice to Agni. He can intervine just in time and they decide to run away together. Lu Ten has to raise Zuko as his own and make sure nobody can ever hurt him again.
