Summary
The stranger rolled in his slumber, mouth semi-open and a weird smile on his face that Chuuya had never seen on him before. It made him look somewhat younger, and softer, with the way the sand was dusting his face and his wet hair was clinging to his skin. He reached his hand out, moving a strand away. The guy' smile widened and he leaned into the touch like a pet fish would. It was endearing, he thought, bowing down until their noses almost touched. Without thinking, he inhaled deeply: the human smelled of salt, like the ocean, like Chuuya's home.
When he opened his eyes again, the man was blinking up at him, still clearly lost.
Startled, Chuuya jumped and dived back into the water, swimming swiftly back home, hoping the guy would think he had been hallucinating all along.
Chuuya couldn't avoid the feeling that he was somehow still going to get fucked big time by his good deed.
(Or, when merman!Chuuya saves Dazai's ass from drowning, he can't know how much both their lives will change.)

Summary
New York City has a vast array of vigilantes and superheroes that call its streets home. Dazai Osamu, Port Mafia Executive and Mori Ougai’s right hand, is deployed to start building relationships in the area. Mori, ever the fan of tests, leaves Dazai to figure out how to best handle the local vigilantes on his own.
And Frank Castle? He’s just worried that keeping this kid who refuses to identify himself alive may be more difficult than he was hoping.
Or; a city-wide adventure, hotel hopping, forging friendships with local heroes and a long-winded game of cat and mouse, all featuring an embittered Veteran and a suicidal teenage boy.

"Dazai ran through the ruined city of Yokohama his heavy breaths echoed on the empty buildings, plant growth coated nearly all the rubble in sight. The green sea was occasionally broken tall stalks topped with giant white flowers that sprinkled generous amounts of pollen on the cracked concrete. Dazai took a deep breath, the pollen filled his lungs but he didn't care he was finally free, after five years trapped inside sterile white walls, he was home."
I'll probably be fixing this forever because I'm never satisfied.

What happens if dazai made an unconscious wish and the book listened?
Dazai wakes up in the MHA world in his 10 year old (might change age to 12) body with the same scars and injuries he had previously. While he has his previous memories his mentality decreases more and more so he will act more childish and struggle with his usual ability to mask.
Unfortunately where he wakes up is not the best of places how long can he protect not only himself but this little girl that’s trapped with him? Set when Dazai is in ADA and has called Aktugawa strong.
Warning: a lot of OOC and mischaracterisation from the original characters. A lot of trauma and self harm and mentions of abuse and assault sexual and otherwise. I do not intend to go into details of the more extreme things. There is also a lot of possessive behaviour. This would be best for older teens and up but I can’t stop you so you have been warned.

A small sigh could be heard. "Hello. Can you hear me?" A small voice came and the young man felt his heart drop and, looking at the frown that formed on Ango's face, he realized that the man felt the same thing. That voice clearly belonged to a child. Probably a boy, judging by the tone.
"Yes. So, I imagine there's a reason you called here." Oda continued, remaining calm, although his insides felt in turmoil thinking about what would make a child who looked so young call an anti-suicide hotline.
The line was silent for a while longer, before a small sniffle could be heard. "I'm on the edge of a bridge. There was a sign indicating that you could call this number if you planned to kill yourself." The child spoke in an almost robotic tone, worrying the two adults even more. "I guess I just want to know if you will be able to stop me."

No one knew exactly how it happened. But somehow, out of all the students at Yokohama high school, the foster kids always drifted together into the same friend group. They were a pack, bonded together not by shared interest but shared traumas.
So when Dazai noticed a new boy in his physics class, one jittery and pulling at the sleeves of his hoodie as if trying to hide something, he was quick to corner him after class.

A big foster kid/high school au switching between Atsushi's and Dazai's perspectives. Updates every Thursday as consistently as possible.

They went past a small, well kept church, crossing its garden and then going up a small hill right behind it. A giant oak tree stood on top, its foliage already turning yellow and red, but Chuuya's attention was quickly taken by the tombstone right under its branches. Dazai stopped right before it and knelt down, eyeing the flowers already there with a frown for a second, before tching and proceeding to ignore them entirely.
He looked at Chuuya and gave him a small smile, before turning to the tomb again. There was only a person that could be buried there, he thought, but Chuuya didn't react when Dazai finally spoke.
“Long time no see, Odasaku.”
(Or, it's about time Dazai brings Chuuya to meet his best friend.)
