Strapping the goggles and mask on, he gave the all-clear and hopped into the water. It was practically frothing with bubbles, and if the situation were less serious he might have made a joke about Finding Nemo and a bubble volcano, but as it stood he could barely see a thing and his anxiety was sky high.
Studying mers for upwards of a decade had given him a healthy respect for how dangerous they were when humans threatened their territory, let alone when they were brooding with a grudge. He wanted what was best for Big Red, and he was absolutely certain that Red did not know that yet. He’d feel a lot better about all this if they could actually see the mer, but with how frothy the water was, Tim could barely see two feet in front of him.
He had a desperate, fleeting hope that he wasn't about to be murdered, but the shifting shadows around him weren't very promising.

Tim was on a mission.
It was a very big one. He knew that the trek from Drake Manor to Wayne Manor was at least an hour away if he made his little legs run very fast.
But the fact was that it was raining. And that made it a dangerous mission, because water slid across the roads and pavements, making it very easy for him to slip and fall.
But! He had a jacket, he had his boots, and he had an umbrella. And, again, Tim was on a very important and grandiose mission.
A mission to get a hug from Dick Grayson.

He felt two strong hands on his shoulders, and found himself with Bruce's face a few centimeters from his. The man had a hint of a beard and bloodshot eyes.
“Does the child in question have black hair?”
“Yeah.”
"Blue eyes?"
“Yes.”
“Is he wearing a black t-shirt with a huge S?”
"Yay! Rao, Bruce. Have you seen him?"
A long pause, then Bruce decided to speak, "He's here."
“What?”
“He's eating Alfred's pancakes upstairs right now. He was very angry,” he added, giving him a sideways glance. Honestly? He deserved it.
“How did he get here? I never revealed your identity to him,” Clark said, confused.
“He kidnapped my stalker and I found them making the Riddler cry. Edward chose to go to Akrham rather than have to deal with them.”

He didn't like the tone Master Dick was using. Alfred knew that tone very well, and had learned that it was the prelude to trouble.
He put down the rag he was using to clean up, and asked, "Do you finally have a friend who isn't a vigilante?"
The smile that the young master made was bright – trouble, big trouble – and he took a few steps to the side, showing Alfred a boy perhaps around seven years old, very thin and with sunken eyes, who was looking at him with distrust.
“No, better. I found a little brother!"

“B? Is that you? What the hell are you wearing? Did you dye your hair?”
Bruce blinks, his only show of surprise but he doesn’t let it show in his voice though, when he asks halfway to his Batman growl, “I’m asking again - who are you? What are you doing here?”
"Well, shit." The guy says and rattles off some numbers and letters so fast Jason barely gets any of it while Dick squints his eyes as if that would help him hear better. Jason can’t tell if he’s trying to figure out what the hell that means or if he already knows and has a careful non-reaction.
Bruce stills and seems to really look at the guy for the first time, his voice weirdly strangled when he says, “You know we have to verify that.”

Tim has always been small, the runt of the litter so to speak.
So, it’s a little surprising to know that he spends his nights jumping across Gotham’s rooftops.
That’s not to say that he’s very good at it.
When he comes to school, injured, Jason can’t help himself.
The kid is obviously hurting.
Besides, sometimes it’s easier to kidnap a baby brother instead of asking your dad for a new one.
OR
The story of how Tim lost his camera but found a home.
He might not have adult supervision but he’s got Janet’s brains and Jack’s money and more audacity than the two of them combined.
So maybe following Batman and Robin at night was a bit overkill, but hey, he’s an overachiever. Sometimes, he just can’t help himself.

Tim may have been thirteen, but he was also a high school Sophomore and perfectly capable of faking a nanny, breaking and entering, and hacking the Batcomputer—not necessarily in that order.All he had to do to keep this lifestyle was maintain the ruse—easy enough when it came to his parents but a more treacherous undertaking to try to put one over on the Batman himself. And with Jason as his English tutor, Tim found himself growing perilously close to the Wayne family. Although at first content to watch them from behind his camera, it was only a matter of time before he got invested.

And, well, to say it quickly goes sideways is an understatement, AKA, what will later be referred to as “that time Tim tried blackmailing Batman to not call Child Protective Services.”

TLDR: In which Bruce Wayne doesn't get his boys, but they all find their way to him anyway, only he’s Matches Malone. Surely he can keep three secret identities in check with no consequences whatsoever.
Pls don’t be intimidated by the word count, Bruce doesn't get the kids all at once, each kid gets about 8 chapters before the next one gets introduced (this was actually an accident but it’s the plan now lol). There’s individual TWs in each chapter but it’s all generally about fear of rape, *very little* actually happens ‘on screen’ though.

Tim let his mother wrap his wings for the gala. She always did it tighter for special occasions. Making sure it wouldn’t come undone so Tim couldn’t “Disgrace the Drake name” more than he already had.
His wings almost always hurt from being bound all the time, but when they were wrapped this tightly? He knew he was in for a world of pain later.
He didn’t voice this to her though. Maybe he would have when he was younger, less experienced, and more of a burden. But now? He knew better.
He knew way better.
He let his mother dress him and get him ready, he let her put makeup on his bruises and under his eyes, he let her do his hair.
“Timothy, today we have something very important for you to do okay? I’m not going to tell you yet, but you must be on your best behavior, and you must listen to me and your father.”
or; The Tim Drake centric, Bird Hyrbid, Batfam fic, where Jack and Janet Drake are abusive assholes and Bruce Wayne never knew that there was a hatchling living next door, much less one that was biologically his. Jason's just happy not to be the youngest anymore, and Dick? He wants so badly to protect this baby bird from a world that doesn't deserve him.
