The shadowy lines snaked over his skin without pattern, dark enough to absorb any light that hit them.
“No, no… no.” Bob whispered as he trailed over the lines with his fingers, holding false hope that he was just having sleep deprivation-induced hallucinations. Of course, he's never been a lucky person.

Charles knows he’s a stubborn person but this time, at least, he thinks it’s warranted. Less than five minutes ago, he and Max were fighting like there was no tomorrow, and now Max was offering to drive him home. It didn’t add up.
Max looked at him and as if sensing what he was thinking, said, “I’m not a horrible person, Charles. I’m still upset about the race, of course. But it’d be incredibly shitty of me if I just left you here after you passed out.”

"Go!" Max yelled, tears falling uncontrollably from his eyes at the pain. Charles was crying, too, but his tears were of mental anguish. "I've got it, run!"
OR: Time stops at midnight after the annual driver dinner. Everyone is missing except for twelve of the drivers. Something... unnatural is lurking around every corner. And their lives change from 'Drive to Survive' to just survive.

He loves to race the dude - loves beating him more accurately - but a friendship never came of it."
Set during the ’21 season, in which Max is fighting for the championship, Charles is suffering at the hands of Ferrari, and where two rivals become something more than either had ever anticipated. After all - they had never talked outside of the paddock before.
