Summary
The four times the Pitt Crew asks Dennis about his relationship with Mateo, and the one time someone asks Mateo.
“You and Mateo…” Trinity started the conversation like she was shot out of a cannon, setting a smoothie down in front of him. It was the day after they all went out for drinks, and the arc of her brow told him she had been paying attention. Dennis sighed but the action only made him have to fight back a tired yawn.
“This is the conversation we’re having at six in the morning?” He took a drink of the smoothie. It was a soft pink that unsurprisingly tasted like strawberries and coconut milk.

Summary
Trinity shut the door to her room like a statement, a complete sentence with a subject and a predicate. A second after the door closed, music played loudly. He shifted to look at Mateo sheepishly, hoping he wouldn’t be offended by his roommate’s presumption. Mateo returned his look with a smile. He reached out to run a hand gently over Dennis’s arm before using it to pull him closer, facing chest to chest.
“I’m sorry about her.” Dennis nervously rubbed at his neck, blushing.
“You’re fine, Dennis.” Mateo leveled him with a serious look that pinned him to where he sat. “What do you want?”
“Me?” Dennis cringed at how dumbfounded he sounded.
“Yeah, Dennis, what do you want?” Mateo held eye contact with him.
“What do you want?” Dennis felt nervous, tapping his fingers against his lap.
“Not the question.” Dennis nodded at Mateo’s words, cracking a smile.

The apartment, at first only occupied by Jason, was less a personal apartment and more a BatFam safe house. The way they lived in the apartment was starting to remind them of the WatchTower, just a bit. Stephanie was always in and out, Dick had a spare key that he did not use sparingly, and he woke up many times to Tim fast asleep on his couch.

“Hey, Jaybird?” Roy turned to Jason, who only hummed in response. “When's the next Wayne family dinner?”“Friday. Why?”
“I think we need to tell your family before they find out on their own. I also don’t want Dick or Brucie to kill me or something.” Roy shrugged, wiping his mouth and putting his tooth brush away.
“Yeah, that's fine, I think it’s about time they know anyway.” It was Tuesday, they were sure they could draft a somewhat good “we’re dating” speech by then.

Summary
“Your dayshift kids are in,” he said in a low voice as the three of them turned to watch the younger healthcare workers get their drinks and sit down. Dennis, Trinity, and Mateo all looked worn as they carried out the most lackluster toast and click of bottle necks Jack had seen in years.
“They look like shit,” he tacked on helpfully.
“McKay texted me and mentioned the shift was hard,” Dana replied, looking at the group's heavy shoulders.
“Poor kids,” Robby shook his head as he took a drink. He shared a look with Jack when Dennis leaned into Mateo, where he sat in a booth.
“Huh,” Jack hummed, his eyebrows creeping up his forehead. Dana followed their gaze, turning back to them with a lopsided smile.
“Wonder when that started,” Dana looked at the pair, watching as they inched impossibly closer to each other while Trinity looked passively interested in whatever conversation they were having.
