Ed had never been particularly interested in books. He mostly associated reading with his mother's stern lessons over her well-worn bible, re-reading the same passages over and over again until they were forever burned into his memory."

Ed becomes fascinated by the books that have informed the worldview of the even more fascinating Stede Bonnet.
Ed's mother taught him to read when he was a boy, but through a series of miscommunications, Stede ends up reading aloud to Ed nearly every night (with Ed willfully taking advantage of Stede's misunderstanding to spend more time with him).

The entire crew was either extremely scared of the former Kraken (Lucius, Frenchie, and Fang) or murderous and on the verge of slicing his throat whenever they were alone with him (Jim, Archie, Pete, Ivan). The rest of the crew (Oluwande, Wee John, Roach) was more impartial, but didn’t hide their disdain for Edward in any way.
"Edward and I are hoping that by spending time one-on-one, the crew get to have a personal apology and see that Edward can be the man the two of us know he can be."Or: the three most powerful men on the Revenge all had their individual mission: Edward wants the crew to forgive him for what he had done to them; Bonnet keeps pestering Izzy to teach him how to be a fucking pirate, and Izzy is here, struggling to teach the crew how to survive. Because in a a bit over a week, they’re going to reach their next port. And Izzy wants to fucking leave.
(This fic takes off at during the events of s2ep5 and takes it from there. Up until this point, canon exists (except for Ivan’s death – he’s alive and kicking in this one!), but let’s see if the upcoming events are going to happen in this story.)

"Figures I'd have to do this for you, even now." Izzy says, hand going to the dagger on his hip, even as he drops his sword. Throws it down, which sends shivers down Lucius's spine. Izzy takes pride in his weapons.
Lucius remembers Roach joking that they're the only things Izzy Hands cares about, save for Ed. It's not as funny now.
"What're you doing, Iz?" Edward is eyeing the dagger warily, hands held out in front of him.
"I'm tired, Edward. So fucking tired." Izzy chokes out behind tears, shoulders shaking. "I can't be what you need, now. Loyalty's only useful if someone wants it, after all. I'm an old attack dog that's outgrown its use and is just terrorising the pups."
"You want a fucking lap dog," he gestures to Bonnet, though he doesn't seem angry, "and I can't be that for you."
Ed has been using Izzy as a punching bag, and Izzy has been all too happy to help him. They never talk, though, so both men assume they're in the right.
I think Ed gets the benefit of the doubt whereas Izzy is set on fire for the most minor of grievances. Both of them gotta figure their shit out. In the meantime, Izzy will get love from new people, who see his worth. Won't let him self-destruct.- Language:

Tim was never meant to be a permanent part of the Batfamily. He took on the role of Robin because Batman needs a Robin, but Batman has a Robin and even more people in his corner now and he doesn’t need Tim.
or Tim is used to putting his wants up on a shelf in favor of what the people around him need, but maybe it’s time for him to take them down, dust them off, and see what’s inside.

Summary
Conner had a pretty good life, all things considered. He wouldn't necessarily call it a great life, but it was good enough.
Sure, living alone at Mount Justice with only a robot for company could get lonely sometimes, but he had his independence, his freedom from Lex, and his teammates on Young Justice.Unfortunately, no matter how content he was with his life, he could never quite shake the way he ached for Superman's approval. The way his insides twisted when his mistakes were met with harsh words and punishing hands. The way jealousy sunk its claws in deep every time he had to watch Superman and Jon interact. Still, he had a pretty good life, and that was all he needed.
But when an accident ends with Conner being thrown through a wall and Superman learning that his clone isn't quite as tough as he seems, that pretty good life comes crashing down around his shoulders. Superman insists these changes are for the best, that he's trying to make amends and help, but Conner isn't so sure. Not that anybody ever seemed to care what he thought.
At least Jon had a pretty cool video game collection. Maybe living with the Kents wouldn't be so bad.

Izzy never called it macabre. Never said chin up, mate, this’ll pass. Never told Edward to think of something nice instead or promised him that things would look better tomorrow. He just stayed close: a steady, solid weight. And when Edward couldn’t speak, couldn’t move, couldn’t do much of anything at all, Izzy read.
Sometimes being in a mature relationship means realizing that your codependent comfort rituals are, in fact, codependent as fuck.
