Summary
Ghost likes the fact that he gets a side of Soap all to himself. He likes that he has the power to reel Soap in or set him loose, depending on what he wants. He likes that nobody else gets to see the way Soap falls apart with a hand around his throat and a dick in his ass. He likes how safe Soap makes him feel, how desired, how needed. Ghost likes being someone important to Soap.
And maybe that's what Soap sees in him. Maybe Soap likes the fact that Ghost doesn't talk much to anyone except him when they're alone in bed or pressed shoulder to shoulder in an isolated corner of the room. Maybe Soap isn't put off by Ghost's violence because he knows he can weaponize it. Maybe Ghost makes Soap feel equally important and needed and desired - that's all Simon's wanted to do for the last two years, and it finally fucking clicked that he might be succeeding.
Maybe Ghost isn't as bad at this relationship stuff as he thought.

Adam hadn’t been expecting Ronan to confess his love for him.
Sunday, two weeks before Adam had to load his shit car with luggage and leave for school, Ronan had made dinner while Adam washed dishes.The sun was still orange in the sky, pale blue giving way to a deeper tone with every minute, ticking down to the inevitability of nighttime. The house he’d inhabited with Ronan these past few months was dark and quiet aside from the kitchen, with its warm overhead bulb and a dream stereo playing soft, gentle music that Adam hadn’t expected Ronan to tolerate. He still had a way of turning Adam’s head and making him wonder what the hell they didn’t know about each other. This music may have been for Adam’s benefit. Ronan was sappy enough, though, that it could very well have been something he enjoyed when he wasn’t listening to nails on a chalkboard.
Adam wouldn’t tell Ronan he was a sap or a romantic. He would just enjoy it.
