“You’re not okay,” Grian said, spotting the dark stain on the sleeve. Blood. He grabbed the guy’s arm to steady him. The fabric was soaked, warm and sticky, dripping slowly. Grian’s stomach twisted. “What the hell happened to you?”
The man swayed, knees buckling. “Whoa, easy!” Grian caught him under the arms, he was heavy as a sack of iron, and slung the stranger’s arm over his shoulders. Half-dragging, half-carrying, he hauled him toward the workshop. The man didn’t resist, just leaned in, breathing raggedly.

His breath caught in his throat, and he reached his hands outwards. He felt a sort of familiarity at the approaching sight, like this was not only something he’d seen before but something he’d grown comfortable with. He should’ve felt scared but all he felt was calm.

His eyes were a bright, vibrant red, gone from the natural burnt color they normally were. There was a smear of blood across his bottom lip and Mumbo’s attention shifted from Grian’s hand — now clean of any of his blood — and down to Grian’s face.

Scar found himself in an incredibly embarrassing predicament.
He has powers. Weak ones, meant to subdue and stop anybody from running. That's just how Vex magic works. But today was different. A lot more stressful.
His powers had turned against him, and now he was bound with no sign of it wearing off. Red, thin strings looped around his wrists and pulled them above his head, legs free to move but his waist was tied in a string. And- Normally it isn't an issue.
Typically, he could just try and fall asleep, and hope that it would sort itself out, but now he has a new problem.
This was hot. Like, scary hot.
