He ignored the way his brother's eyes were staring holes into the side of his face. Reaching out without looking he flicked Stack on the forehead. Once upon a time his brother would have hissed in pain. He was sure Stack hardly felt it now, but he had been struck with muscle memory. Stack blinked back his shock, grinning bright and stupid. A warmth settling in his chest. His brother hardly ever touched him now. Stack didn't know if it was out of fear or disgust maybe both even.
"Quit starin' at me." Smoke huffed.
"Let me find out you making a friend Smoke."
"I ain't makin' no god damn friends."
"Yeah whatever. Louis kinda draw you in huh? No weird shit....just...." Stack fumbled, realizing how that was sounding.
Smoke ignored his fumbling. He understood what he meant. For someone so weighed down....he had a way of being a lighthouse in a storm. Like beckoning ships at sea closer. Or rather pulling out the dying embers and giving fresh air. Thats what he was....fresh air. Something new.....a change of pace.
"Yeah..." Was all Smoke offered back.

Summary
Promises made at the end of the Christmas trip fall through, and scorned Louis turns his sole attention to Armand and his evolution. When Armand inserts himself in family matters he oversteps running past hard boundaries.
While trying to mediate the situation, Daniel learns just what type of input Amadeo offers. Hit with an ultimatum, Amadeo is forced to finally take his seat on Daniel's couch. Forcing open the vault of memories locked tight. Louis deals with the tornado such actions cause.
Later, when Armand falls ill deep rooted fears are pressed. Just when things start to settle Louis' parental alarms ring and Lestat's not too far behind.

Red streaks left from bloody tears disappear beneath the foundation. Cool on his blood warmed skin. Eyes red rimmed as he smooths it into the ageless pores. Like a mask. Solidifying his resolve....except someone always slips through. In the corner of the mirror he can see her standing there.
Watching him in that yellow dress....stained by her blood, skin charred at the legs. Scent of burnt ash hitting his senses. He averts his gaze focusing in on himself rather than her. As she draws nearer to him. The smell deepens....he grimaces.

Summary
Searching for a new found balance embracing his system. Armand struggles to remain steady on his feet, and when Louis' family life bleeds into the life of Armand's new home. He finds himself warring with wanting to hide away or stick close to Louis.
While juggling Armand's wavering flashbacks. Louis finds himself in an uncomfortable place when Arun begins to act out. Armand and Daniel come up with a new punishment. It's testy, it's scary, it's unorthodox.....but Armand is all on board. It's Louis who's afraid to step in. It's a test and he's aware he's on the chopping block.
With the holiday season upon them, Daniel and Louis plot to give Armand a first Christmas he'll never forget. Throwing together Daniel's family on top of Louis' little trio, Christmas has some hiccups. When ex's bring old fire, Armand feels a shift inside of him. In the meantime Claudia and Lestat struggle with new found jealousy and grapple with a realization.
Armand is here to stay.
