Who could have imagined for a second the tragedy that would follow, all those years lost forever, all those memories now more virulent than the most violent of poisons?
Lauren, in particular, had been marked to the core by that night, the night she had lost a piece of herself somewhere on that windswept mountain.
But isn't it said that, sometimes, facing your darkest demons is also the best way to fight them, to regain some semblance of your former life? Or had she made a big mistake, and signed again the loss of another fragment of her soul...? Or even... someone?

She’s basically a walking Manic Pixie Dream Girl trope, except she has no men to fix because her two-year relationship ended at a charity gala in Kensington.
Now she has time paradoxes for breakfast. Secrets he won’t share because she’s second best. And the way his gaze always slips past her when things get too real, like she hasn’t noticed that he never really looks at her. Winnie loves this life.
