Homelander bristles. This name was workshopped by countless focus groups.
“I’m a superhero.”
The man rolls his eyes and groans. “Fuck me, ‘ah course you are.”
“Well who the fuck are you?”
“Butcher,” he replies, collapsing back against the mattress. Homelander can sympathize, those drugs tend to be disorienting. “Billy.”
“Oh, because Butcher Billy is so much better than Homelander.”
The man snorts and Homelander thinks it might actually be a laugh. “Backwards, kid. Billy Butcher.”

Summary

Summary
He needn't have worried. The small one was strong.
He sees the human many more times since then. It seems as if the herd doesn't venture out without it. He wonders if that one is the pack-leader. It seems logical, but humans are not always creatures of logic.
He forces back memories of that one, and continues to shadow the herd whenever it ventures out. He makes a habit of waiting in the small grouping of trees near the gate so as not to miss one of their outings. Eventually he learns to distinguish the small one from the others even before it takes to the air, and he feels proud of this accomplishment.
Months later, only hours after the humans had returned behind their walls, everything changes.
(In which Eren is not a human that can turn into a Titan, but a Titan that can turn into a human.)

Billy likes having a partner he doesn’t have to be careful with, someone he can unleash on without worrying he'd get hurt. It isn't like Billy enjoys causing pain, or harbors any kind of deep anger. He just…likes violence. There's something deep inside him that really, really enjoys violence. He holds on to Homelander hard enough that if he was anyone else he'd sport bruises for weeks. He bites into Homelander and scratches his back and when he's riding Homelander he grasps his hair and pull hard enough to tear, using it as an anchor.

And because getting added to Thorin's council isn't trouble enough, Kili is in love with an elf, Fili may or may not have his eyes on a certain little scribe, everyone seems to think he is a lady hobbit, and Thorin needs to find someone to marry.
Okay. So the last part might not be trouble, exactly, except for the part where it makes Bilbo's rather hopeless attachment even more painful. Or it wouldn't if he hadn't possibly accidentally promised to provide Thorin with an heir... and Dáin just might still be scheming something.
Fortunately, if there's one thing hobbits are good at, it's growing things. And Thorin did promise him a garden.
