And he definitely wasn’t ready for the gore of this one. He really just wanted to cook and sit out his mandated vacation. But if there's one thing Harry cannot escape, it's himself.

There is something wrong with Maekar. Baelor has known it from the moment of the first charge, when the horn sounded and Maekar… did not ride. Did not move at all. It is difficult to see what he is doing exactly, through the thick fog, but it is clear he is not moving.
Baelor shifts targets, taking Aerion off his horse in a shower of spear shards before Aerion and Dunk can even meet. He looks once at Maekar, still on his horse, before he wheels around. He cannot focus on Maekar. This is not like Redgrass, his task now is not to reach Maekar, not to defend Maekar. Not to help. Here, they are on opposite sides, and Maekar… whatever is wrong with him, it’ll keep until Baelor has the chance to deal with it.
