Sure, he'd like to be some hero, but it's not like there was some massive army of monsters of anything, or some grand antagonist. So Jaune decided to become a hero like his father was- a fire fighter! To start, he would get a degree in fire science and obtain the necessary certifications at Beacon!

Instead he finds yet another mystery arriving at the door of the old place, a difficult man named Frederick Kreiburg, who claims to be connected to this manor.

Waking up again completely fine the next day was not in his plans. Having a holographic screen calling itself the "system" hounding him at every corner after he got up? Even less so. The dumb thing tells him that he has been granted a second chance at life, on the condition that he "makes amends" to the people he's wronged and finds love of his own in this makeshift alternate reality. As ridiculous as it all sounds, this is the "nightmare" he now has to face. Will he be able to beat the system?

Trust value is a very fickle thing, that much Lin Ling already knows. It is especially so in the world of heroes. Even the slightest snowball thrown can have a ripple effect that can either be catastrophic or ideal for said hero. Still, he can't say he wasn't even a little bit alarmed when he woke up to a whole moving crew hauling the giant statue of the previous Nice—with tomatoes still on its face—into a platform.

AKA a fic inspired by the poll currently being held of the TBHX characters where X and Nice are constantly fighting for top spot. Miss J went quiet for a moment before answering "I did... my late parents, you are able to see your dead family members if they die with regret, but only if they were close to you, by blood of course, have not know about that? It's common knowledge at this point"
