“Oh yes, I love that! No, Donnie, I do not want to be your mutant turtle pig.”
“Oh really?” he challenges. “You don’t want to meet another version of yourself?

In another universe, Donnie's brothers are cursed. They aren't acting right. This isn't that world, but they get involved.

Summary
"What did you do to Leo?" Donnie accused. His voice came out precise and absolutely vicious.
Draxum flinched but held his gaze, a show of respect, scientist to scientist, that Donnie wanted to throw back in his face. "Even with a combination of mystics and science, one cannot truly program a living mind. We can shape tendencies through genetics, lean a brain toward certain temperaments and abilities, but we cannot issue commands." He paused, choosing his next words carefully. "What we can do is lay the groundwork and let the mind complete the pattern on its own."
The connections were forming in Donnie's head before Draxum even finished. Leo's behavior over the years. Beliefs Donnie had never been able to parse. A pattern he hadn't let himself look at directly until now.
Oh god. Please don't let him mean—
Draxum's voice dropped to something just above a whisper. "I needed to ensure the sacrifice would be made. So I introduced what I might call passive suicidality. In retrospect, it was disturbingly simple. Program the baseline knowledge that he was meant to die. Pair it with an instinct toward loyalty, and a drive to win above all else." He paused. "The mind does the rest."

It isn’t dangerous, Raph is barely taller than Shelldon, and his shell would do more damage to the floor than vice versa. Donnie knows all this.
Doesn’t stop his entire body from twitching forward, alarm spiking like lightning through his limbs. Mikey rushes forward to help Raph back onto his feet with impossibly gentle hands.
He doesn’t think he's ever had to worry about Raph before. Not like this.

“It has been a long time since a sick little turtle has called for me,” Splinter murmured, stroking Blue’s forehead around the bandages. “Normally you are all ready to fight each other to the death to monopolize Red’s attention.”
It was only partly a joke. Leonardo gazed up at him, eyes glassy. It was hard to gauge how much of their conversation was sticking the landing and how much was somersaulting straight over his sluggish head.
Then Leonardo said, “He hates me.”
“Pardon?” Splinter said stupidly.
His son blinked, and finally fat tears rolled down his cheeks, soaking into bandages on one side, unchecked on the other.
“He hates me,” Blue insisted. “He’s right. It was my fault.”

Finally, finally, they spotted two blurs of color in the dull tunnels. Both were bundles of blue and green, but one had a splash of purple on his head. There was no longer a pair of voices. Instead, all they could hear were frantic chirps, churrs, and whines. They silently inched forward, straining their senses to get a better feel of the situation.
As they got closer, they noticed with guilty dread that the littler one was not moving.
