"Dude, you've never heard of Stream Labs?"
It was supposed to be a simple question asked by a couple of friends of his, the Dream Team actually.
And from there, well, things escalated beyond his imaginations.
Wilbur was a normal musician and streamer, until his friends pull him into a small but growing fandom of a sort of ARG RP streamer under the team name of Stream Labs. A fantastic mystery and story involving science, magic and more. It grows as the actor behind teen genius scientist Dr. Tubbo, carefully and meticulously unveils it with splendid ease. The thought and effort in the story was amazing and captivating, Wilbur was easily pulled in.
But as the streams go by, Wilbur and everyone else slowly start to realize that there's more to these streams then meets the eye.
Tommy just wanted to live peacefully with his best friend after waking up, maybe with the weird prince and the new friends he made online. He never fucking expected everything else- why the fuck were he and Tubbo famous in another world? The fuck was 'Clingy Duo' anyway?
The walls of reality are crumbling down around them but they're too busy with each other to notice.

They were a little team, the four of them. Two powered, two not; communication messy, loyalties strong. They were close friends, and Tommy could safely say that two years into the whole vigilante-hero-grey-area-it’s-complicated business, he was enjoying himself.
Sometimes it sucked. Sometimes they failed to stop something in time, to react quick enough. People still got hurt, crime still happened. Sometimes they slunk back to their apartment injured and in pain and having gotten their arses kicked or having spent a night cold and bored where nothing even happened at all.
But- and Tommy wasn’t about to admit this aloud to anyone-

And, of course, there are the men who orchestrate it.
Fortunately, though, in spite of everything, there are fathers with nothing else to lose. Who have only seen the crisis in letters. Who have, wise beyond their years, realized they had to bring their sons home.
And if not a togetherness, there was, at the very least, a home.

Summary
[Hello, User Tommy!] the System solemnly pings as Tommy lies on the floor, holding his stomach as he slowly, slowly bleeds out. [Congratulations on finishing the story - User Tubbo is eager to see you again!]
Fuck you, he tries to say and the System laughs, watchful eyes taking in the death of the last User. Pale slivers of sunlight blur into darkness as his eyes finally shut close for the final time, alone and itching to see Tubbo.
Or: Tommy and Tubbo are bound to a System where they play the role of two villainous characters, Prince Theseus and Tobias. A glitch occurs during the last chapter of the story and they wind up back in the past having to redo everything. Except it's not just them who have memories of the first timeline and the story is rapidly falling apart.

As a theater kid, I agree to this AU. My only hope is that this doesn't end up being as tragic and angsty as what's actually going on in the actual canonical storyline, because, man, we need more canonical fluff in our lives if we're gonna be plunged into this post Christmas Crisis. But anyways, as they always say in the Hunger Games:
