Oh my god, I've been obsessed with this since the first chapter. The tone of our Reader and how we follow them throughout the story examining and caring for this KnY's character ensemble has me in a chokehold. I'm usually particular about powered readers, but the angle of how it was was used here was perfect and used in such a fantastic way and it got some of that mundanity I tend to enjoy from non/weaker powered characters I like, and it all just hit in the absolute best way. I don't think I've read a fic that has scratched that itch so perfectly before, and with the writing being so fantastic on every level, it's like I struck gold. There's just so many aspects to enjoy.
The insights on all these different characters are so lovingly woven and it makes Reader's love for everyone 2D and IRL for them be such an amazing underlying and openly referenced value to their POV. This work isn't explicitly romantic - not to me - but I adore that thick magnetism that draws everyone so intensely together and in their bonds for reader. Not all is potently romantic yet, but the way they're all so intent on Reader and how she has her own complex bonds and care for them is well is just so amazingly woven? It's so fascinating, and really makes me think of the magnetism like the moon and sun on planet earth - the intense push and pull between celestial bodies. I'm so invested in seeing how they all try to deepen their closeness with Reader and how she continues to care for them in comparison and also to contrast them at the same time. Lovelovelovelove this!
Also, the Taisho Era Secret bits is fun and gives the perfect kind of peaks into our material as a true spiritual successor of the canon in the best way, lol. Last chapter made my heart stop but the TES blurb might be giving me false hope, lol.

As you got older of course, your desire to not risk your sense of comfort and normalcy drove you to try to convince yourself it was all in your head. That is until a series of unfortunate events take place: Your stepfather becomes possessed, demonic entities begin to stalk your every move, and the only time you feel safe anymore is within the walls of the old estate your mother bought with her savings. Within these strange old walls lives a poltergeist with flame colored hair, so full of warmth that it’s hard to remember he’s not alive...
Especially when he becomes the only friend you have.

It starts on a Tuesday.

But then it becomes a little more. A figure in the dark. A beast with red eyes, prowling the alleys. A head peering up from beneath the surface of the water, inviting and enticing.
Nobody reports it. What would they say? That they think they see a monster in the corner over there? Delusions. Fantasies. Stories.

He then works at/maybe owns a bakery.
I know very little about working at a professional bakery, so I'm changing that to a coffee shop since I know more about that.

Even in human form, Danny reads as other, Jazz seems too odd to be only-human raised, and Dan forgot what being human even means.
Luckily, this new dimension is used to aliens crashlanding and winging their stay. The lovely people of Smallville in particular are always willing to lend a helping help to their unearthly guests. They could end up being wonderful protectors, like their sweet Supers. Does Clark really think his hometown can't recognize him? Or piece together his cousin, little brother, and son are Supergirl and the Superboys?
