“Yes,” she finally whispered. “Rumi has patterns. But she is not a demon.”
“Then you’re going to explain everything, right now, or I walk. And when I tell Zoey, she will too. You know she will.”
Celine let the silence hang for just a moment before solemnly nodding in agreement. “If we’re going to have this conversation now, I’m going to need a drink first. And Zoey should be here."

“ - t’sokay,” Rumi tries to assure Zoey, who's frantically hovering, but her words are slurred. “It only scratched me. I wasn’t bit.” Her back aches from where the alpha had thrown her, but it’s nothing compared to the pain where its claws had ripped into her.
“Why’d you push me out of the way?” Zoey demands, and there is so much pain in her voice that Rumi wants to reach for her, but Rumi’s hand won’t do anything but twitch uselessly at her ruined side.
“Had to…” Rumi feels woozy, like she’s floating on a cloud, but she still manages a weak smile. “You were in danger… s’worth it…”
“Idiot,” Zoey sobs. “You’re such an idiot, Rumi.”
Rumi wants to laugh but it comes out like a cough, the sound thick and wet, as the red spills out past her smile in a rush.
Ryu Rumi was trained to be a Hunter just like her mother before her. Until one night a Hunt goes horribly wrong and Rumi becomes the very thing she had sworn to destroy.
Years since she fled Korea, Rumi firmly believes her past to be in the past.
Only she’s never been that lucky.

Rumi looks between the two of them. “Share the details with the class, please. My best guess is breath mints.”
Zoey grins. “Nope. It’s weed.” She waggles her eyebrows conspiratorially.
“Wait, like…” Rumi’s voice lowers instinctively, and she adds, “...marijuana?”
Zoey nods sagely. “Gwi Ma’s Lettuce, if you will.”

Rumi isn’t stupid—she knows her patterns can’t be contagious. That’s not how they work.
She’s started to pull away, keeping her distance. She might not be contagious, but what if there are other adverse effects? Maybe they’ll live shorter lives, or they’ll get sick, or they’ll somehow realise what she is, and then...
Rumi won’t touch them, and they won’t get hurt. They won’t end up sick. Nothing bad will happen to them because of her. Rumi knows that she’d never be able to live with herself if she decided to be selfish, especially not with something like this. Mira and Zoey are both far more important than a few hugs every now and then. It isn’t even like she's ever been that touchy, so she’s sure none of them will even notice. She’ll keep her distance, enough to be safe, not enough to make it obvious, and all three of them will be okay.
And then, whenever they seal the honmoon, Rumi can hug them as much as she’d like, or brush by them without feeling sick, or reach out without her heart pounding.

The girls are roommates. Zoey and Mira get along like a house on fire, but Rumi tries to keep a distance though she’s nice about it.
Zoey and Mira get a lil drunk one night and decide to summon a demon. They complete whatever ritual they found online and instead of a demon showing up in a puff of smoke, Rumi scares the pants off them by opening the door and going “what are you doing?”
They do this a couple more times for shits and giggles, with Rumi opening the door each time.
What they don’t realize is the ritual is working, Rumi is just the closest demon at all times.
Not a complete fic, but a blurb I promised over on tumblr for one of my fic ideas.

Rumi had always been closed off and modest but with the appearance of the Saja boys, she’s more reserved than ever before and it’s more than a little concerning for both Zoey and Mira. Mira intends to get to the bottom of it but what she finds is Rumi changing the lyrics to ‘Takedown’ only the changes are more than a little concerning. Combine that with the tired expression on Rumi’s face and their night is surely turned upside down as revelations and confessions are made.
Aka: A what if idea I had for kpdh. We know Mira looked at the pages Rumi had of the modified lyrics for takedown but she only looked at it enough to know Rumi had been changing lyrics. What if she looked more into the modified lyrics at that moment. Well this fic is what I think would be the result. With reveals and confessions involved as well.

Mira’s voice broke in again. “Celine knew the whole time, too?” Now she could feel the anger in her voice start to leak in. Rumi just nodded, feeling the tears continue to stream down her face.
“She said you wouldn’t understand… that you’d hate me… and as much as I disagreed, I couldn’t quite face up to it. I let myself believe it.”
A large pause of silence fills the car between them. Rumi just tries to keep her breathing steady. Then, Zoey exclaims in a loud voice,
“What the fuck would she know?”
