“Hi, Flounder!” Dick's trainer said brightly, and Dick made a sort of clicking sound in response. When it was him and his pod, they communicated with a variety of sounds that made up their language, which was just as good as whatever they were speaking. Clicks, whistles, vocalizations, whatever. It didn't matter here, alone in this tank.
You look like a half-dead lionfish, Dick said. It was a bit lengthy, but oh well.

“Too quick?” Derek asked, eyebrows raised. “I’m twice your size, kid.”
Dick shrugged. “So’s Bruce and we’re pretty much tied at this point, or at least according to the score board the kids started to keep for Saturday spars.”

“Not ones that include hitting each other,” Derek said

Summary
The realms of humans and magical creatures coexisted, but in recent years, humans have begun killing creatures for profit. Slade has his sights set on one of the fairies, Dick, whom he plans to kill in order to sell its wings. He eventually decides to capture it and give it to the king, but finds himself forced to care for it against his will while the creature is imprisoned in the king's castle. Perhaps in time, Slade will open his eyes and regret his actions.

He had just gotten home, and laid down on his bed without bothering to change his clothes. While lying down, he fell asleep for a couple minutes and he had the craziest dream.
“Richard,” a voice said. A voice long forgotten, a voice from long ago. “My dearest grandson.”
He woke up with a start. His grandfather. His loving, caring grandfather he last saw before everything. Even before his parents fell to their deaths. He had been dead for a long time but Dick couldn’t believe he forgot his last words.

Summary
There was a hand on his back, softly rubbing a soothing pattern against his shoulders. Zuko flinched away from the touch as much as he could while his stomach rebelled. It wasn't enough and the hand stayed where it was.
It took a few minutes before he was able to stop dry heaving. When it was clear that nothing else was going to come up, Zuko rolled himself fully back onto the sleeping bag. His head hurt, it hurt a lot. Usually, his head felt fine after sleeping but today his brain felt expanded in his skull, pushing up against the inside and mashing all the squishy bits together.
He wanted to get up, wanted to get away from whoever was tucking him back into the warmth of his sleeping bag. He whined low in his throat as the hands nudged his arms into the bag, the sound leaving his throat with a rasp. His eyes weren't focusing on anything, which wasn't out of the norm for his left side, but his right eye was fine. He should be fine. He was fine.
(He wasn't fine.)
“Are you okay?” A deep voice asked.
(Zuko becomes a middle child, everyone is horrified by the new information that comes to light, and Hakoda wonders who he has to kill to make this scarred boy happy.
