Summary
Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom.
After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.

However, this student isn't quite a "student" at all; it is a weapon left without a handler. Unfortunately, the new mutant now thinks Logan is his handler. Even more unfortunately, Logan knows more about this situation than he would like to.AKA an AU that embellishes on the fact that Kurt was being used as a weapon by Stryker at the beginning of X2, turning the situation into a recovery scenario that ends up helping both Kurt and Logan overcome their Weapon X conditioning.

Summary
Danny Fenton: protector, ghost, and college drop out. Still living at home and burnt out, Danny is barely hanging on to any sense of normalcy. It doesn't help that he doesn't feel safe at home- or anywhere for that matter. Too much to do, too many duties, and not enough time to do any of it.
Dash Baxter: reformed bully, self-taught cook, and Casper High School's newest gym teacher. He never thought he would be moving back to Amity Park, but with his mother newly divorced and their relationship improving, Dash is giving the town another chance. Maybe he can settle down.
Amity Park isn't big enough to keep Danny and Dash apart for too long- and Dash soon finds himself trying to keep Danny from imploding in on himself.

A clip played of the now grown Jason Todd, a young man nearly as tall as Jack with a white streak in the front of his black hair, reuniting with Bruce and Dick Wayne. The Young man was holding onto his father, creasing his suit coat into harsh folds, before both of them nearly fell over as Dick ran in, holding both of them just as tight. The clip was suddenly cut off.
“We have just received an update on the case. An anonymous insider from inside the Gotham PD has just sent in a copy of a report containing the identity of the body initially believed to be Jason Todd. They ask that anyone who might have any information contact the Gotham Police Department as soon as possible, as a missing person's case matching the description or name have yet to be recovered.” Another photo of a young Jason Todd, clearly edited to have a softer jawline, at lot like Maddie's, was shown on the screen, “The young man has been identified as Daniel J. Summary
Now that he's in his final year of high school, Danny is determined to drag his GPA up before graduation, and Grade 12 gym seems like an easy way to do that after almost four years of ghost fighting experience.
But things get a little bit more complicated when it turns out Casper High has made a few changes to the curriculum, namely adding a ballroom dance unit to the lesson plan, and Danny ends up partnered with his former bully Dash Baxter as his dance partner for the final test. Danny is willing to do whatever it takes to pass this exam, even if that means dancing tango with Dash of all people.
Tango is all about passion and chemistry between dancers, however, and Danny finds himself surprised by just how well he and Dash work as partners...both on the dance floor and off of it.
