Is it more than Cyno has ever dared to hope for? Yes.
Is it too good to be true? Absolutely.
Is everything between them going perfectly? That too. Really.And no, that contract of relationships rules Alhaitham made Cyno sign as a condition for their relationship definitely isn’t a reason for concern. Because clearly, Alhaitham likes Cyno back, despite the flaws that Cyno is determined to improve. Right?

This certainly isn’t what Cyno had in mind for his precious Friday evening: being dragged to a party that easily qualifies as his worst nightmare, surrounded by far too many drunk university students who he has no business or desire to be with, stuck in the middle of a stupid party game that could easily ruin him.
If only he hadn’t taken Tighnari’s bait and come along, foolishly hoping to encounter a certain upperclassman who Cyno happens to have a massive crush on. A massively pointless crush.
Even if he did, against all odds, manage to get close to Alhaitham tonight, it wasn’t like anything would change. Right?Series

“Can I help you?” Alhaitham asked, settling back into his chair. He was never completely sure where he stood with Tighnari. Were they friends? Possibly. Probably. They drank together, at least. But Tighnari was a little too sharp for Alhaitham’s comfort; he always felt a little transparent under his eyes. But now those eyes weren’t focused on him. They weren’t really focused on anything. Tighnari looked half-mad with exhaustion, hair mussed and ears twitching wildly. He leaned one hand heavily against the doorway as he slumped in place.
“Where is the Temple of Silence?”When Hermanubis turns against his host and leaves Cyno near dead, Alhaitham has too little time and too much desert to search in a desperate bid to find the Temple of Silence and the only people who might be able to save him. (Oh yeah. And then maybe he can confess.)

It’s beyond inconvenient, having to be constantly on his guard to the extent it’s interfering with Alhaitham’s ability to sleep. If Cyno were to decide Alhaitham’s usefulness has ran its course, or that he’s too much or a risk, a liability, Alhaitham has no doubt he would act accordingly.
And unfortunately Alhaitham knows he would almost certainly lose that fight.
Especially now, he thinks as he looks at himself in the mirror. The faint sunburn he’s acquired while staying in the desert sufficiently hides the slightly sickly pallor of his skin. He’s never been prone to dark circles around the eyes. Good enough for fooling everyone else. But he knows himself, and the reflection looking back at him is clearly not well.

It would have been a great idea, really, if not for the obvious catch: Alhaitham is neither the type to appreciate parties, nor does he ever let himself be caught off guard, even by better planned surprises. Oh, and there’s the fact that Cyno has to deal with all of those circumstances on top of his mountain-sized crush on Alhaitham. Which the birthday boy absolutely cannot find out about. Zoro can’t get drunk, and drugs don’t affect him the same way. That is what he thought until he found himself feeling strange after some sketchy looking guy bought him drinks at a local tavern. Thankfully, the rest of his crew is there to make sure nothing weird happens to him. Which shouldn’t be an issue except Law is traveling with them and whatever was put in his drink is making it difficult to keep his desires from slipping out.
