Summary
The Vampire Ascendant's darling Strix hates politicking and playing hostess. His spawn hate cleaning up literal bat shit and rat corpses (some of them more than others). But, while none of the above are thrilled about his latest palace improvement project, and while Lord Astarion himself might not be as impervious to his pre-Ascension past as he likes to think he is, throwing lavish sex dungeon parties to impress other vampires just comes with the territory of being the most powerful vampire lord in the history of Toril. And with luck, they'll all find a way to make it work; even if it is all a little bit last-minute.

Or, another lazy evening in the Crimson Palace; in which vampires read vampire romance, reflect on love and obsession, play dress up, get frisky, and experiment with the use of supernatural abilities to get each other off (while also employing more traditional methods to that end).

She might as well be playing him like a bard’s hapless lute, but Astarion cannot bring himself to care. She must be feeling sweet tonight—at least, she is now. And he could taunt her, dangle satisfaction just out of her reach, and then snatch it away. He could reject her. Punish her. Make her suffer, for being so cold; for her three damned tendays of refusing his love in every way she could.
Perhaps he should do at least one of those things. But as it is, it’s all he can do to keep from rubbing himself all over her like some sort of desperate animal; and it is for the joy of her, for pleasure that his heart cries out, not for austerity. He is no martinet. And so, Astarion lowers his mouth to kiss her, to love her, instead.
A few, slightly falconry-themed chapters in the life of the Vampire Ascendant and Strix, the reluctant, willful consort he adores (don't call her 'consort' to her face, though); beginning shortly after her turning, and taking place over the span of several months.

That fiery appetite of his simmered in his gaze as he smirked at her, and she nearly spread eagle for him right then. Instead, she was left panting softly when he licked his lips slowly, taking the panties from her grasp with a roguish snatch.
