But then Satoru thought about the two times, just minutes apart, that he’d watched Suguru get pushed to the ground earlier today. He thought about how that would actually feel to have to live without Infinity, to be forced to feel an impact to your core so sudden that it throws your lungs off rhythm. Then, he thought about how Suguru had even still insisted on carrying him just a few minutes after all that had occurred, and his heart sank with shame at the thought of how useless he'd been to Suguru all day— no, actually, ‘useless’ didn’t even cut it —he’d been a burden. Outright. And so Satoru changed his mind right then. He knew he couldn’t let his pride get in the way now. He didn’t want to be a burden to Suguru again, not like that.
"Nah, actually. Nevermind," said Satoru bluntly. "You’ve carried me enough already. I can do it myself now.”
"You're sure?" asked Suguru, sounding a little surprised.
“Yeah.”

“I can’t believe you dragged me into this,” Satoru muttered. His knee bounced up and down, heel clacking against the floor.
Suguru and Shoko had forced him into the clinic the second he returned home. He’d missed the train Suguru had gotten on, and had to wait for the next one. It’s been more than enough time to make his nerves jump out of his skin.
Satoru wasn’t afraid of much. He wasn’t called ‘the strongest’ for nothing, after all. He could face down a hundred special-grade curses on his own and barely bat an eye. Traditional fears like bears, snakes or spiders never much fazed him, though he understood the lack of appeal, to a point.
But needles? He would have rather faced the 100 special-grades.[Or...]

“Lu Guang?” Cheng Xiaoshi sounded concerned now. He gently brushed Lu Guang’s hair aside to put his hand on his forehead.
“You’re burning up,” Cheng Xiaoshi said.
“No I’m not,” Lu Guang’s voice came out raspy. “It’s just hot in here.”
After getting back from the hospital, Lu Guang just can't get himself to stop working. There's way too much to do after being away. But there's only so far he can push himself before taking a break isn't exactly optional...

From what Nanami’s parsed together in the time since Gojo showed up at his door, unannounced and uninvited and undeniably in need of assistance, is this; Gojo’s been running on fumes for as long as Nanami’s known him, and then some. Sent from mission to mission with barely a chance to even debrief with the higher-ups before being assigned out again. Somehow between it all, he’s managed to fall ill. And the exhaustion, coupled with the fever, made space for careless mistakes.
Like getting hit by a curse that apparently leaves one in dire need of human contact.
