Judging by his outfit, he's likely apart of the circus. He seems to be maintaining his composure, the only giveaway to his annoyance is the way his eye twitches from underneath the mask. Without thinking, you pull the old fart away from the circus worker, which earns you a cane to the shin more than once. Eventually, the geezer ends up walking off angrily grumbling in the near distance.
You offer your hand for him, however the performer doesn't take it, instead he slowly pushes himself off the floor and begins to tidy his suit. He dips his head and tilts his tophat as a form of recognition. "Thank you, kindly passerby." there's an awkward (atleast it is for you) beat where he just examines you under his gaze. You're the first to speak up.

After nine months back in Gotham and one failed assassination attempt on his former father-figure, Jason made the executive decision to steer clear of the Bats. Even the Replacement. He instead spent his days getting his Pit Madness (mostly) under control, in addition to gathering a small but mighty criminal empire thanks to a duffle bag full of severed heads. Crime Alley finally had the protector it deserved. And whether out of fear or sheer disinterest, the Bats seemed to keep their distance.
Until the Replacement decides one reluctant rescue from the infamous Red Hood is enough to form a pseudo-alliance between them...

There’s something in your trap. As you get closer to where you laid the thing the day before, you hear a faint rustling. Something is caught.
Reasonably, what you’re expecting is some kind of animal. A fox, maybe, or some other unfortunate creature that took a step in just the wrong place. Depending on what it is, you might be lucky today. If its pelt is worth something for sale, skinning it will make you a profit, after all.
But the closer you get to where you laid it a couple of days ago, the more apparent it becomes that this isn’t normal. The rustling noises are much too loud for a small animal to cause, even if it was struggling with all its strength. And by the time you start hearing whines that sound nothing at all like any animal in the area you know, you’re sure something’s wrong.
And then, you make it to the small sort of half-clearing you’d left the trap in, and find that your suspicions were correct— that’s no animal.

Hybrid Au!Springfield is rescued by Reader (kind of), who does a terrible job of being a decent human being... right up until he's so pitiful they can't fight the guilt.

This one still hasn’t touched food or water, going on full speed in dehydration if he keeps going like this, and he has broken down everything that could be broken in his kennel.
