The door gave way under her hand with a quiet push, the hinge letting out a soft, tired creak that barely cut through the sounds of the ER. Her gaze landed on him immediately, posture first, then positioning, then the way he held his shoulder, and she closed the door behind her.
She crossed the room at an even pace, pulling the stool closer with a quiet scrape against the floor before sitting, her attention settling fully on him now, steady and direct. "Hello Tim Wright, I'm Y/N L/N, I'll be your doctor tonight" she said.
The room was dimmer than the hallway, not by much, but enough that the light settled differently against the walls, softer, less aggressive. It made everything feel quieter than it actually was, like the noise from the ER stopped just short of crossing the threshold.
Her gaze didn’t drift. It stayed on his face just long enough to establish presence, to read what little he allowed to show, before shifting down to his shoulder.

Going to chruch is a chore, Toby had stopped praying a while ago when he realized nothing would stop the bullying or his father or "cure" him. But still he goes, sat in the very back pews of an ornate catholic church beside his mother and sister, trying to stay quiet during the sermon.
You don't see a lot of new people in a small town like theirs, mostly the same regulars and their growing families. So when a new family came, dragging along a kid around his age, Toby started looking forward to chruch more.

This is absolutely cliche to some degree but you are a friend of Tim and Brian, meeting them while filming Marble Hornets, even if you were the camera "guy". The entire Marble Hornets crew goes radio silent and missing, leaving you to pick at the scraps of relationships that you only had photos and memories to tell you were real. When you finally get home from Uni, expecting life to just go on without Brian or your little group to keep you company, you see that he's been spotted in a nearby diner, unaware how bad you want to kick his ass for leaving you with Tim and his emotional vulnerability of a radish. This will be set in New England area where Brian and the reader lived (I know he lived in Pennsylvania, we are going to ignore that for the sake of my plant knowledge)
Not as important but the reader is going to be a Bio major and likes land conservation, I honestly know the most about this topic since I wanted to dedicate my life to it before I went into Forensics and I plan on getting a second degree in the topic.

Psychopaths whose faces had probably appeared on a WANTED poster at some point, creatures that defied all logic, monsters wrapped in urban legends and rumors. The kind of people any sane person would run from without looking back.
But you were desperate.
And honestly, when the rent is that cheap, you can overlook the fact that your neighbor might be a serial killer or some supernatural entity. At the very least, the house seemed to have some sense of order. There was a tall man, always impeccably dressed in a black suit, who managed the mansion and was always available whenever you needed him.

“I’m sure if I thought hard and long enough, I’d find something.” Toby chuckled, the base of his voice deeper now than it was a few years ago. “I have plenty.” He whispered, the whistle of the wind louder than he had been.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” He looked into my eyes, a hint of sadness settling in his own. He scanned over each of my features, beginning with the shape of my cheekbones. Adoration crossing his face for a second, hiding the negative feelings. “I regret leaving you.” My heart skipped a beat as he reached over to tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear. Toby’s index finger lingered a bit, causing my earring to sway. “You weren’t given much of a choice, Toby.” He sighed, knowing that I was right. But it didn’t make him feel much better about himself.
“I know.”
