Fia's nurturing kindness has made the Tarnished one obsessed. Her every action weighs on his self-control, driving him into her arms again and again. But the deathbed maiden is cruel with her affection, and frequently sends the Tarnished one away to lie upon his lonely bed without satisfaction. Her duty is more important to her than his feelings, and the Tarnished one is going insane trying to figure out if he should keep pursuing a relationship with her or simply give up to find someone else who will be more receptive to his feelings.
As he wrangles with all of this, the Tarnished one must also deal with the unpleasant company of the knights at the Hold while figuring out his own identity.
