This time though the young men are invited as well and Damen is in well over his head. Especially when a golden haired Prince of Vere turns up late, is nothing but snarky and ill-tempered and Damen can't help but like him.
Laurent doesn't want to be in Akielos at all, let alone in a competition to marry an Akielon Prince, but now that he is he thought it might at least be fun to mess with the competition for awhile before he gets sent home. And then he actually meets Prince Damianos and his world turns upside down.

It's not like Ilya being an omega is some big dirty secret. In the NHL, every player has to self-identify their secondary gender for safety reasons. Shane's always considered himself lucky to be a beta. No mating cycles to worry about and only the occasional amount of hormonal bullshit when things get tense in the locker room. Otherwise, he's grateful his instincts don't impact him as much as they seem to impact everyone around him. He's the only beta on the Metros and he's lost count of how many times he's had to get between other players to stop them from posturing or attempting to bite each other over hockey.
Ilya's one of three omegas on the Raiders, which is probably why their team is known for violence. There's nothing more terrifying on the face of this Earth than a pissed off omega, Shane would know.
