March 24th, 2019. After the death of their father, the Hargreeves siblings gather at their old family home for a funeral. When things get off to a rough start with thinly-veiled accusations of patricide and old resentments bubbling up to the surface, the siblings split to different corners of the house to cool off separately. And somehow, in the middle of the impromptu dance party that follows, Klaus and Ben are the only ones to notice their long-lost brother has just appeared outside in the courtyard after a seventeen-year absence.

Canon divergent AU that covers Season 1 on the premise that Five's return does not go as anticipated, and in order to prevent the coming apocalypse he must rely on Ben, who is determined to help even if he is just as helpless as Five, and Klaus, who is somehow less useful even though he can actually interact with the world.

The tentative peace between the Hargreeves siblings and their father is disrupted when Klaus returns from an unexplained trip to the afterlife with his powers restored. In the ensuing struggle, Klaus could be Five’s greatest advantage, which turns him into Reginald’s number one target.
Hargreeves now remembers both his lifetimes, after all, and he is keenly aware that the most overlooked aspect of Klaus’ abilities could lead to his downfall.

Then, several days later, Klaus comes back. The screaming fills the whole house.Or: at thirteen, Klaus dies under mysterious circumstances. It does not go over well. Days later, Klaus comes back as a shadow of himself. It goes over as well as it can, in all honesty.

Summary
The kid was incredible. Jefferson had admitted that to himself early on. Not just capable, but compassionate and earnest. Whatever Jefferson’s thoughts on vigilantism, it was easy to see that the kid was doing it for the right reasons. It was easy to see that he wanted to help as many people as he could.
But he was a kid, and Jefferson had always known he’d die a kid if no one saved him.
The day had finally come that Jefferson thought he'd failed; that Spider-Man had gone to his death, and there was nothing he could do. Things didn't get any easier when the mask came off.

Miles wraps up and deals with a run-of-the-mill robbery, but after receiving an eerie message from one of the culprits, Miles is left feeling... different.
Miles isn't sure whether to trust the criminal or take it with a grain of salt, but if anything were to happen, he'd know at least a bit.

It's not easy to be the parent of a teenager. It's definitely not easy to be the parent of a teenage superhero. It would probably be at least slightly easier, however, if Jefferson Davis actually knew that he was the parent of a teenage superhero.
A post-canon Spider-Verse fic in which Jefferson and Miles determinedly fumble their way through a loving father-son relationship, despite recent family losses and ongoing daily struggles.
Jefferson Davis just wants his son to be okay.
