There are quite a lot of interesting turns “What a Cruel Joke” could have taken, especially since I’ve been writing it from the very beginning, so I decided to share them with you 🤭.

"They had just come back from a wild mission — one that left them all exposed to a strange smoke compelling absolute honesty, it was like a truth serum, Supposedly, the effect would wear off by the next day, but no one was certain. To be safe, they agreed not to ask each other any questions until it passed; everyone clearly had secrets best left untouched.
For a while, things went smoothly… until Kai blurted out, “Jay, are you a virgin?”
It was a cruel joke — and the worst possible time for it"

Upon entering highschool, Marc Spector found himself at a crossroads.

Steven didn't know the hell that they lived in, and Marc wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. His snap reverberated throughout the universe, making the bloodied battlefield tremble with its power. His glorious purpose was finally fulfilled, completely this time, with no loose ends to undo his great work. Tony, clutching the wound Thanos had given him, glanced over, trying to ignore his slowly disolving body.
'Is this how Peter had felt?' he thought.
And as if to taunt him, he saw it all over again. Peter falling to the ground as he tried to make his way over, sobbing as he tried to push himself forward with legs he'd now lost.
"Mister Stark..." he managed to gasp, before finally falling apart completely.
One by one, every friend and ally he'd made crumbled to that same dust that had haunted him for 5 years, until he was the only one left. And with that, Thanos approached him, his gauntlet resting casually on his hand, as if it hadn't just ended his universe.
"Stark," he started, in that righteous tone, like he always knew best, "I am... inevitable."
Or Thanos wins and snaps everyone, but instead of them dying, they are transported to a different universe and must find eachother again.

While on a mission to obtain a strange artifact, the Moon system is suddenly ambushed by the Avengers. Instead of being arrested they are given an offer- join the team! But only if they stop killing every villain they defeat. Now, the three alters must navigate meeting and working with the Avengers while also hiding their identities- all three of them. Because if the team finds out who they are, and that they are not one but three people, who knows what the consequences could be?
I’ve written a lot of this fic so I will update this every Wednesday until I catch up with what I’ve written!

Jake Lockley loves his job. Like, seriously. He gets to drive fast cars, drink good liquor, and get paid the big bucks. Also, kill people. Objectively awesome stuff. What else could a guy possibly need?
In which being the only alter with half a brain cell can get pretty boring when you haven't got anyone to share it with. And Jake has never been what anyone would call friend material.
Meanwhile, Bob Reynolds is...adjusting. Seriously! He is. It's only that being the objectively craziest guy in a group of messed up ex-mercenaries and super soldiers can get kind of lonely, especially when one bad day might spell the end of New York as we know it. Also, there's only so many dishes he can do before he seriously starts to contemplate the merits of re-acquiring a drug habit. (It's not like it could kill him anymore, right? Haha. Kidding.)
But Bob's doing fine! Honest. He doesn't need a friend. And he definitely doesn't need Jake Lockley.

They decide to investigate further, and in the blink of an eye they find themselves in an auction held in Paris, trying to obtain an ankh cross. The relic seems to be much more than the symbol of life—it is also the bringer of demons of the Egyptian underworld and of the past that should’ve stayed buried.
