Summary
Oceans aren’t supposed to go missing. It would be a bit strange if they did, seeing as they don’t exactly have legs—unless they have some kind of secret legs hidden beneath their brine, which allows them to scuttle around all over the place. But it’s safe to say that that hasn’t been confirmed once, so yes, again, oceans are not supposed to go missing.
And yet, one is.
To avoid keeping the entire crew from exploding into a major panic, this information is kept under wraps for now. After all, people just started coming into the auditorium. They still have probably half an hour until the actual performance starts. Surely that’s enough time to find their missing ocean!
Most people would probably check at the beach or somewhere near sand or, at the very least, somewhere outside to find an ocean, but their ocean was not your typical, run-of-the-mill sea you can spot on a globe. No, she’s special. And she really needs to come out of hiding because this is a very important competition, and it’ll look super bad if she doesn’t show up.
Penny stumbles upon their missing ocean by accident.

Summary
Noel wondered what would have happened if he hadn’t been driving that day.
It was a damp Thursday, late in the evening. The dark sky was clear and full of countless silver stars across the horizon. Noel was driving home from a night shift at Taco Bell, and the street he was on was mostly empty—aside from the person perched on the bridge railing, that is.
Call it rude, but Noel was just planning on passing right by. This person, whoever they were, was NOT his problem, he wasn’t equipped to deal with someone who was potentially about to end their life, AND he had homework he had to do at home.
But then, as the car was zipping by, he noticed the flash of unmistakable red outside the window, and suddenly he was slamming on the brakes, which nearly made him crack his skull open on the steering wheel.
Noel threw the car in reverse and began backing up. Once he got close enough, what he thought he had seen was confirmed.
It was Ocean.

God, she hates having to get up in the middle of the night. She hopes she’ll be able to fall back asleep with ease after this. Luckily, she doesn’t think it’ll be too hard, as she’s over at Mischa’s house with the rest of the choir for a sleepover, and she’s always found it easier to fall asleep at other people’s homes than her own. Something about it feeling safer to her, more comforting. More secure, even.
But before she can even think about going back to bed, she has to do something about this awful taste in her mouth.
Turning on the sink, Ocean hunches over to cup some water to her lips to try and wash the taste away, but when she opens her mouth, something comes out.
