Summary
Buck hated hospitals. It made him think of his first date with Abby, of the truck bombing, of the embolism, of the tsunami. Just, a lot of bad memories, is all.
Which is why he had wanted to tell everyone so quickly. Just so he didn’t have to go to this appointment on his own. Last week he had gone alone, thinking it would be just another check up and then his doctor had looked at him with pity in his eyes and told him they’d found abnormalities in his blood work and they needed him to stop taking his blood thinners and come back in a week.
His doctor had been simultaneously vague and clear when he told him what they would be looking for. Listing all the possible reasons that his blood cell counts were off. But on that list was cancer and Buck knew that with his fucking luck, it would be that. The look on his doctor’s face made him think that he thought so too.

Buck had meant to tell everyone, he had, really. But they were angry with him and he didn't want them to forgive him just because he might be dying. He needed to fix things first.

Summary

The moment the pressure released, fresh blood welled from around the wound.
His stomach dropped.
"No, no, no."
The words sounded shaky even to him.
He braced one hand against the counter and stared at the metal protruding from his side.
Any paramedic, any firefighter, anyone with basic first-aid training knew what he was supposed to do.
Leave it alone.
Go to a hospital.
Call for help.
But for Buck this wasn’t an option.
OR
Buck gets hurt on a call but can’t ask for help because the lawsuit is just over and no one cares. Or do they? He performs self surgery.

“Good. And, Captain…” the dispatcher seemed to hesitate for a moment, “he said he hit his head on the ladder truck. But… that would mean that he was already injured before his crew left on their call.”
“Well that can’t be right, surely they would have noticed,” Jeshan said.

Post-lawsuit, Eddie snaps and shoves Buck, injuring him just before the station clears out for a call. Alone and bleeding, Buck has to call for help.

Eddie almost doesn't see him. At first, he's just another dark shape against the white, sitting off to the side of the road. Eddie nearly drives past before the headlights catch on what looks like a snow-covered teenager.
He should probably keep going. It's not his problem, and stopping in the middle of a snowstorm to investigate some random person sitting beside the road sounds like exactly the kind of thing that gets him into trouble.
OR
Steve Harrington leaves the house in the middle of one of Hawkins coldest nights with barely enough clothing to keep himself warm, and none other than Eddie Munson finds him sitting alone in the snow.

Will is not so inclined to play by Hannibal Lecter's rules and decides that he'll take his fate into his own hands and leave an impression as he does it.
Hannibal's going to regret how poorly he handled Will's situation, one way or another.

“Jack has used you quite mercilessly.” Will shovels the rest of the eggs in his mouth, draining the glass of juice that had come with them in one long pull. “The places he drove you to must be dark indeed.”
Hannibal takes the tray back as Will pushes it into his hands. When Will speaks, it’s so quiet that Hannibal has to strain to hear it. “The only thing Jack drove me to was you.”
