Summary
After the defeat of Gabriel Agreste and the disappearance of the mysterious peacock miraculous user, Marinette is left to try her best as Guardian and pick up the pieces. With the kwamis left in hibernation, no leads on the missing peacock miraculous, and no way to contact her beloved partner, she's left to her wit's end on where to proceed.
That is, until the prime suspect of the peacock wielder coincidentally takes up an apprenticeship at her parents' bakery. Adrien Agreste, son of Hawkmoth, has seemingly planted his roots in her home while Marinette was away for an apprenticeship. This could either be a disaster in the making, or the perfect opportunity to retrieve the missing miraculous... either way, it's war.

Summary
It was supposed to be a small job. A job outside his main one.
Just a simple security side hustle he could do till he was allowed back on the field. Back where he BELONGED.
He didn't think much of it when he agreed to take this job, and it hadn't been much at first. But the more time Scout spent here, the more he got the feeling that something wasn't right. That old ghosts he had long forgotten in his past were clawing their way out of their tombs to drag them down with him.
It felt like a part of him was walking back to a distant memory, somewhere he swore he'd never return to but could never remember where or why. A heavyweight that, no matter how hard or long he clawed at it, it never let up.
Maybe he should have thought twice about it. Maybe he should have paid more attention to the signs all around him. Maybe he should have kept was what locked away from coming out from the darkness.
Maybe he shouldn't have listened to the tiny hushed whisper in his ear that compelled him to keep going, to keep unearthing the dark secrets of this place. Whispering that same sentence over and over again each time he thought to turn back.
"You promised us, Jeremy. You promised us."
