It warms her through and though she resents it, she can feel the beginnings of purpose twitching to life in her veins. Because she does not know where she wishes to go. What she wishes to see.
But she knows what he must.Galadriel does not sail into the west. She cannot bring herself to. Alone, she encounters a lost man piecing together his own fractured identity and wishes to make the both of them hurt.

“Not a fan?”
“I’ve lived in the North for way too long. Could do lifetimes without that weather,” he says in a way that sounds awfully weary. Old beyond his years. Raw in a way that makes Galadriel speak before she thinks better of it.
“Yeah. I came from Valinor through the northwest passage. Had my share of snow as well,” she says, as if Helcaraxë had been just that. A walk through the tundra and a bit too much snow.
Galadriel doesn’t want to think about the Helcaraxë. She doesn’t want to think about her uncle, or the trees. She doesn’t want to think about Valinor at all.

“What did you do?” Halbrand snorts, “aside from ensure my lasting and humiliating defeat.”

John Wick AU. For four years, Galadriel has lived a life in freedom. After executing a mission that was supposed to be impossible, losing two of her brothers in the process, she and Finrod got out of the family business. She left the criminal underworld behind her, fully convinced that she would never return—but then her brother’s dead body is found in New York, branded with the Crest of Angband.
After Morgoth’s death, Sauron was left with the daunting task of keeping the Angband family from falling apart. For four years, he’s successfully kept the organization together—but then he finds out that one of his underlings has killed Finrod Noldor. The infamous Daughter of the Golden House of Finarfin has been brought back to life, and she’ll be coming for them. To save his organization, he disguises himself as Halbrand; an exiled member of the Angbands' inner circle. He knows he can’t defeat Galadriel in a fair fight, but he has no intention of playing fair.
As Halbrand and Galadriel team up to take down Sauron, they soon realize that there are more forces at play than either of them thought. The Angbands are not the only ones who want to see Galadriel dead, and Galadriel is not the only one who’s after Sauron.

Nor can Halbrand resist the connection he shares with this unruly Elf. They are alone, cast out for their past actions, and tempted by both desire and darkness that consumes them. In her, he sees an opportunity for redemption and in him, she finds an unlikely sense of belonging. While evil forces work in the shadows to destroy that which they hold dear in Middle Earth, will their bond lead to salvation or result in their doom?
This is my take on a Second Age story in which Halbrand was just a mortal man after all, written for those who miss Human Halbrand as much as I do.
