Summary
“Eyes on the mirror,” Jack tells him, shifting just slightly out of the way so Robby has a better view of him sliding his hand down, untucking his shirt, and pushing his hand past the waistband of his white boxer briefs. “This okay?”
With another jerk, Robby nods, answers with a hissed, “Yes,” and Jack slips further down, through Robby’s thick bush, familiar under his touch.
“Steady,” Jack murmurs, tilting his head up, lips brushing along Robby’s jaw. “Keep watching.” He glances over his own shoulder, sees Robby red-faced and curling into him, his hungry attention entirely focused on their intertwined reflection. “That’s it. See how perfect you look? How could I not want to spend every day of the rest of my life with you?”

Summary
Jack sleeps with a hookup. In Robby's bed. While he was supposed to be looking after his cat during his absence. And it shouldn't be a big deal, right? Because they're not in a relationship. They're definitely not in a relationship. And, sure, maybe it's not very classy, not very nice, and Jack should have asked before bringing his one-night stand over, but it's not like he cheated, right?
Then why does it hurt so much? Why are they treating it like it's the worst betrayal Jack could have ever committed? And why can't Jack bring himself to disagree?
And, more importantly, can they come back from it?
"Robby, why are we treating this like I cheated on you?" But before Robby could say anything, Jack blurted out more words with some sense of urgency. "I'm not trying to get out of what I did. I'm not saying what I did wasn't wrong. It was. And I definitely did it and I should be held responsible. But it feels like I cheated." Jack's voice died down. "But we weren't in a relationship." He added in a whisper. And it killed Jack. It killed Jack to know he had apparently managed to fuck that too.

How many more do I have to live through?
He found himself drawn more and more to that question.
He also found himself on the roof more often than not.Or: Robby has more issues than he can count, and they just keep coming — but maybe he doesn’t have to face them alone?

Robby finally piped up: "Kind of a shame, though. Guy seemed like your type."
Jack felt himself wanting to bristle, quickly controlling it. Because what the fuck. They'd been entirely wrapped up in each other in the year since Pittfest, Robby finally going to therapy, letting them get more serious than the fuckbuddy deal they'd had going before that. Jack had thought things were going well. "I have a type?" he challenged, raising his eyebrows.

Robby has a CHD history — a congenital heart disease history.
After thirty years of knowing and loving (read: pining after) each other, you’d think Robby would have mentioned it before Jack is trying to get some long-awaited ass.
Alas, he did not.

“You want a massage?”
“I’m fine,” Jack grumbles because he’s grumpy and he feels like punishing his leg no matter how stupid he knows that is.
But Robby knows him inside and out, and just moves in clean past his defenses before Jack can even figure out how he did it. “Why don’t you go lie down on the couch, and I’ll be there in a minute.”
“I’m fine, man,” Jack says, but he knows he’s fucked when Robby ignores him and just starts washing his hands.

"Dude," Shen said, handing him his half-finished coffee "you look like you fought a bar and lost."
Jack took the coffee without a word. His head was pounding. His shirt still smelled faintly of someone else's cologne and sweat. And all he could do was thank whoever was watching over him, God, the universe, sheer dumb luck, Jack didn't care who to credit. The important part was that Professor Robinavitch hadn't arrived yet.
Because if there was one class he couldn't afford to mess up, it was this one.

"Everyone, can I have your attention, please," she said, using her soccer captain voice. The floor instantly quieted as everyone paused to look at her, curiosity replacing the usual distracted bustle. Parker looked back to Jack, smirking now. "We have a celebrity in our midst."
"Man, what are you on about?" Jack asked, getting a little annoyed now.
Parker flashed a grin. "Dr. Abbot has just officially become the most-cited emergency physician in the entire country," she announced with a little relish.
