Their eyes met once more, but Ilya didn’t look away this time. He lingered on Shane, his eyes heated as they traveled down the length of Shane’s body slowly before coming back up to his face. Ilya wet his lips with his tongue, eyed Shane for a beat more, and then went back to his sketch. Shane’s body flushed hot again and he swallowed hard, desperately hoping his blush wasn't visible.
Shane couldn't believe it when Professor Johnson announced there was only five minutes left. As hard as it was to concentrate on not getting too flustered, it still felt like nothing as he sat there and watched Ilya sketch. He was sure he could pose for hours and never grow tired or bored so long as he got to watch the thoughtful furrow of Ilya’s brow and the delicious purse of his lips as he focused on his work.

The sixth grade class this year was a fucking nightmare.
Ilya wasn’t usually the kind of teacher who liked to label an entire group of kids as anything, because kids are all unique and individual and there was no accurate way to describe an entire class using just one word. He still stands by that, mostly, except this year seems to be the exception because he only needed two words for this group of gremlins: fucking. Nightmare.
Ilya Rozanov teaches sixth grade social studies at Reid Middle School. Shane Hollander teaches eighth grade social studies next door. Together, they’ve been tasked with creating a mentorship program between the sixth and eighth grade classes in an attempt to curb some truly outrageous sixth grade behaviors. The only problem? The two men can barely tolerate each other at the best of times, and October in a middle school is not that. And, there’s the added layer that they both are stupidly in love with each other, because they REALLY don’t know how to go about anything the easy way.OR: Two middle school social studies teachers discover they are just about as emotionally mature as their students. Someone’s posted a shaky video from the stands, just behind the whole altercation. It’s close enough to catch the snarl on Rozanov’s face as he charges up the steps. He’s so pretty, Shane thinks faintly. The video starts too late to show what set him off, but it catches the tail end of what the man is yelling, the things he's saying about Shane, before pivoting to calling Rozanov a cunt and bitch and a pussy instead.
Rozanov drops his gloves for Shane. He wishes he could just be grateful, but it feels a little bit like the end of the world.
