Summary
Things get messy eight months after they all decide to stay, though they’d changed; some things would always remain the same.
Buck never expected it to get this messy, however.
Tommy stared at him, sitting next to Eddie, back and forth, and Buck felt like he was being examined under a microscope, “You know, I find it funny the first time we had sex it was in Eddie’s house.”

Summary
The idea comes to him about four weeks too late, a month after an interesting series of events that leads to the four of them hiding in the back of the ambulance before their shift, early enough that they’re still early enough for Gerrard.
“Wait. Eddie?”
He raises an eyebrow in acknowledgement.
“Why don’t I ask Chris to live with me?”
After four tumultuous weeks, Buck thinks things deserve to work out for once and strives to make it happen. He may not have all the answers, but he’d never stop trying to fix his family when it was broken.

Summary
Eddie opened the Safari app to find a specific recipe Buck was looking for, but something was already typed in the search box.
His eyes widened at the words on the screen, a flush of embarrassment climbing up his neck.
Beefy blonde twink gets railed by—
Buck's voice calls out from the kitchen “Did you find it yet?” and Eddie hastily closes the tab, opening another with a surprising speed from someone considered technologically illiterate.
As close as they were, he’d never had a thought about the type of ‘adult entertainment’ Buck was partial to.
Now, it was all he could think about.
Or;
Buck makes dip and Eddie has a crisis over his best-friends porn habits. They fall in love along the way.

Summary
Eddie had said all he remembered of the shooting was the pain and falling to the asphalt, but Buck realizes he also wouldn’t recall the sequence of events in the back of the truck afterwards, and can’t decide if it’s a blessing or a curse.
Who would willfully want to remember the pain of it, the way Buck knows he must have looked—doused in blood, enough to drip from his chin, he could feel it starting to dry on his skin; his eyes, wide, bright and full of terror—he wasn’t hurt though, not—not in the way Eddie had asked.
The mind can be a fickle thing, one thing Evan Buckley was intimately familiar with.
...
A post 6x12 story where Buck and Eddie finally talk about what they each remember from the shooting.

Summary
“Eddie,” Buck breathes, laughing humorlessly, his voice wet and thick. “If we sat here and-- and went through the list of things I want…” his hands gesture aimlessly. “We’d-- be here all night.”
Eddie nods, catching Buck’s eyes again. “Maybe-- we start with mine, then.”
The space between them feels charged with static, like the second before the thunder finally rumbles.
-----
Eddie’s finally choosing to be better-- finally choosing joy. He just needs a push or two in the right direction, first.

Summary
“Okay, this is—” Eddie runs a hand through his hair, growing increasingly distressed, “you guys are purposely missing the point here. Buck, I’m not getting high with you, dude.”
“Uh, why not?” Buck asks, tilting his head. He has the audacity to sound genuinely puzzled.
“We can’t. We’re firefighters,” Eddie says, confused that Buck is confused.
Buck gives him a sad smile. “Not right now, we aren’t. And we won’t be, Eddie, not for a while.”
Buck and Eddie get injured on the job and decide to smoke a lot of weed about it.

Summary
Buck’s instinct is to flip the table. To knock the knife, the pile of shavings, and the journal on the floor; a toddler throwing toys. He can’t make sense of it. Chris in Texas, Eddie all the way out here on his own, and Bobby.
Gone, gone, gone.
Or, Eddie's working as a fire lookout in Mount Rainier National Park. After Bobby's death, Buck seeks him out.

Summary
Then, courtesy of Jee, there’s this drawing. Buck figures this is how she perceives him. Despite the multicolored-ness of the picture with its tall trees, tiny flowers on top of zig-zag grass, and a butterfly over his circle head. There’s a mile-wide crayola frown on his stick figure face.
or wherein Buck comes to some realizations.
