But just because it’s most concentrated and most easily extractable from the pain of human children doesn’t mean that is the only potential source. Nor is living after death the only potential use case.

Or Evan and Cassidy get bored of sitting around waiting in an old dusty pizza place in the vague hope that a serial killer will return to the scene of his murder spree and decide to start applying some scientific experimentation to their situation. This somehow evolves into a plan to dismantle the Soviet Union.

Cassidy holds him close, peppering kisses into his hair.
"Stay with me," she says, and Evan looks up through his hiccups, "come back home to Arizona with me, Ev. My family will love you; I swear."
He stutters, "Cas, I couldn't..."
"Yes, you can," she presses, holding his cold hands up to her face. His fingers find some stray curls in her eyes and twists them around.
He hesitates and looks away.
"Please," she asks, "I-I don't know if I could bear sending you back there, o-or letting you live in some motel for the rest of the summer. It's only three months, Ev."
"Ask first," he ends up saying, "and if they say no, don't beg. Just agree. Deal?"
She nods, quick, and excited and not unlike an overeager dog. "Deal!"
Evan sags back against her, and breaths in deep.
Arizona, huh?
God, how was Evan going to survive that?
Or, a series of short oneshots surrounding Evan and Cassidy's friendship in a canon-compliant world where they're in college together

Told in rotational perspectives of each of the main characters, their will leads them each down paths of either destruction or growth. Sunny wishes to rid himself of his previous coping mechanisms, but struggles to stay afloat. Aubrey must determine whether she needs to defend or fight. Hero wants to help everyone, but struggles to find the balance between passive and active. Basil runs from everything, vices taking control, no longer able to trust anyone, even himself. The more specific you are, the better and if you want a character completely differently interpreted, then I’m fully down for it.
