Summary

“Are you listening, Sakura-kun?” Suo asks, startling him back to the present. He's haloed against the cerulean blue sky and bathed in the golden sunshine of afternoon— dazzling and so very far away.
Sakura looks away hurriedly. One more second and he'd have given himself away.
Suo had always been so annoyingly perceptive.

Summary
Suo hisses ; he didn’t realize his hands started shaking, ever so slightly. He just burned himself with his tea. He brings his finger to his mouth, to soothe away the injured skin.
When he looks back up, Sakura is staring at him, and he quirks an eyebrow in his direction, mouth half-full of rice. Suo smiles meekly ; waves dismissively at Sakura, because he’s not worth his friend worrying about him, when nothing is wrong in the first place.
(How can anything be wrong, if it’s always been like this ? )

Summary
He…doesn’t know how to feel about the way Suo is looking at him right now. It reminds him of how the people he’s fought have looked at him when they’re seeking a skirmish, but not quite that. No, it reminds him of the look a carnivore gives its prey when it knows its got its next meal cornered. It’s making him feel infinitesimal, and at the same time the only person in the room. Sakura wants to squirm under the intense gaze, throw a punch or two to stop the shiver running up his spine; but he also wants to sit still, staring back, just to see what would happen.
or: Suo like pushing Sakura's buttons in a very particular way. And maybe, just maybe, Sakura will figure out why.
