Adora was approximately five foot eight of pure muscle and golden retriever energy. She was blonde, with bright blue eyes, and an earnest grin on her face that looked almost nervous. She was hot, and she probably knew it.
As soon as Catra saw her, she realised what Glimmer’s Christmas party really was.

The gorgeous girl strutted past them without a single glance, like she was totally oblivious to how much the world seemed to want her. The girl who had spoken to her followed the other girls down the hallway with her gaze. An intense wave of dislike seemed to emanate from her.
“Satan,” the girl repeated, nodding down the hallway once the other girls turned the corner, “Catrina Driluth, but everyone just calls her Catra. Head cheerleader. All the girls want to be her, all the guys want to fuck her, and she’s completely fucking evil from head to toe.”'

Catra's eyes glitter as they regard her. "Cool shit." She murmurs approvingly. Her hand trails up to the fleshiest part, touching it gently. "That's your love line."
Adora's mouth is dry and she's really worried her palms are sweating. "Love line?"
Catra nods her head. "Mhm. It's supposed to predict your romances and other significant relationships." She says it like she's reciting it out of a book, her hand trailing up and down the line. "This one is also deep. Long though. Means you're going to have tons of lovers."
Adora feels her cheeks heat up. "Catra!" She moves to snatch her hand back but Catra holds on tighter.
"I'm kidding! Relax." She says with a laugh. "It means you're going to meet your one true love and settle down for ages with them." She rolls her eyes. "Nice and boring."
"That doesn't sound so bad." She blurts out before she can think it through.
Catra's gaze turns interested. "Yeah?"
Adora nods faintly but she doesn't know what to do. Romance isn't something they talk about. "I mean, with the right person." She whispers faintly.

She’s over for dinner a few times, and on the weekends it seems like she basically moves in. When she and Adora aren’t at their place, Adam assumes that they’re over at Catra’s.
It’s nice that his sister finally has a real best friend, Adam thinks. She has a lot of friends, sure. She’s really close with Glimmer and Bow, but they’ve always had each other. Adora has never really had one friend that she’s super close with, so Adam is happy for her.'

"That's not what I said!" She protests, a blush rising to her cheeks. It was one thing to talk shit with Glimmer and Mermista, but she doesn't know Adora like that.
"What were you saying then?" Mermista piles in with a raised eyebrow putting Catra on the spot.
Before she can formulate a response, Adora comes around the edge of her lounge chair and tips back her own sunglasses to look at her.
"That's a damn shame." She says slowly as her eyes meander over Catra’s body. She feels a different type of heat now, her body feeling heavier as she looks up at the gorgeous blonde.
"What is?" She asks her with the tilt of her head.
Adora flashes a cocky grin. "That you've never been railed. Let me know if you need help fixing that." She says casually with a shrug. She puts her sunglasses back on and grabs the sunscreen. "The boys and I are going to play beach volleyball if you need us."
She walks away, leaving Catra with her jaw hanging. "Did she just...?" She looks at Glimmer who’s sporting a huge grin.

Catra just wants to be topped. Adora is happy to help.

"Good morning." She whispered in Catra’s ear. She made a noise of general discontent and burrowed into Adora’s neck. Adora placed a few kisses along her jaw, running her foot along Catra’s calf.
"Hello there." She poked Catra’s side and placed a kiss on the top of her head. Still nothing. She couldn’t keep the smile off of her face as she tried a new tactic.
"Soul-ehh-see-too." She singsonged shifting Catra’s weight to and fro. She blew air across Catra’s head after she butchered the Spanish endearment. Catra finally lifted her head, sending Adora a half-hearted glare.
"Your Ls are too heavy. It's only cute when Finn says it like that." She muttered as she peered up at Adora.
"I knew you couldn't resist correcting my Spanish." She grinned down at Catra placing a kiss on her cheek.

"Glim, I really didn’t think this separation would last this long,” Adora breathed into the phone as she closed her eyes. “Cat’s my home Glim, and I thought I was hers.”
Adora’s bent her head forward to press against her desk, feeling more hopeless than ever. Glimmer was silent—for once—on the other end of the line. She picked up one of her many fountain pens and twirled it around her fingers.
“Honestly, Adora I never thought you two would be apart for this long either.” Glimmer’s voice was filled not only with sadness but with something worse—doubt.
“You don’t think we are going to stay together, do you? Or I guess—get back together.” Adora asked her closest friend. The silence was deafening.

Adora and Catra, childhood friends and college sweethearts, have been separated for a year and are on the verge of divorce. Although they manage to co-parent their eight-year-old Finn, it seems that all hope is lost for their marriage. Adora’s heart thuds in her ears. "You can sit on my face any day of the week that ends with a Y." She blurts out quickly. That's decidedly not casual Adora. She gets to hear Catra’s high-pitched laugh so it's kind of worth it.
Catra bites her lip as if trying to curb her laughter. "I'll keep that in mind. See you around Adora." Her low voice gives Adora goosebumps, reminding her what it sounded like when she whispered in Adora's ear as she came. Adora hopes for a kiss but receives a wink instead as Catra closes the door behind her.
She walks out of Adora's dorm like she hasn't just become the owner of all of Adora's thoughts. It's three in the morning. She really wishes Catra had stayed, maybe let Adora hold her while she slept. It's probably for the best that it didn't happen.
