Summary
It’s hard to be vulnerable, because being vulnerable means letting down your shield, letting people in, letting them see the real you. All your cracks and imperfections. You're more susceptible to judgement, and no one likes to be judged. Gavin knew all too well how that game went. Every time he let someone be part of his world, they wrung him dry for their own gain, spat him out when they grew bored of him. Bullies are bullies because they project their insecurities onto those that they deem as weaker than themselves. It makes them feel less scared.
See, Gavin hadn't always been a massive dick. Growing up, him and Tina were attached at the hip. Never apart, shared and did everything together. And, literally everything; it was almost like Gavin lived at her house. Everyone liked him, he was popular in school. But that all changed the second he became bitter and drove everyone away. Shut out his friends, his parents, his coworkers. He didn't even try to get along with people anymore because it didn't seem worth it.
That's why he doesn't understand why the fuck Nines is trying so hard to get close. After everything he'd done, the shit Gavin said, why did Nines still want to be part of his life? It was frustrating.

Summary
It's hard when you fall in love with your best friend, because when said friend does something that drives you up a wall, you have no one to bitch about them to.
Bucky was always championing for Steve to push himself. Ever since they were kids, he knew he'd see Steve's work hanging in an art gallery one day. But whenever he's a thread away from that opportunity, he turns it down. He doesn't know if it the combined stress of his mom passing, them growing older, his health worsening that made him second guess himself. But sometimes, Bucky couldn't bite his tongue.

Summary
They really were growing up now; it hadn't hit him when Steve said yes to his proposal, nor when Sarah Rogers passed, but as Bucky watched his baby sister grow into an actual person. With a boyfriend, and friend group outside of him. And, Steve was in the running to get an actual big boy job. Working at an art gallery like he'd always wanted. He didn't like that time felt like it was slipping through his fingers.
He relished every moment he got to spend with Steve, but, it still didn't feel like enough time.

Summary
Had they really won? Or was it only an illusion of freedom, as everyone gawked at Jericho's makeshift base in disbelief, disgust. What did it cost them to get their newfound freedom? What would it bring for the future? People wanted to be optimistic, pretend like they'd be accepting of androids. Connor knew the truth though, saw the way androids were spat on. Pushed around. Sent to kill other androids.
Connor didn't feel 'free'. And he sure as hell didn't know how to deal with his emotions that hit him like a truck. He wasn't the perfect little android that Cyberlife created anymore. He was his own person, his own man. Human. He had to learn how to live, for himself. Without guidance from some outside source. No tasks, no missions. Only his objective.
This is the one where Hank finally learns how to move on from Cole, Detroit deals with the aftermath of the revolution, and Connor finds what he's really always wanted; a family.

Summary
Steve and Bucky never claimed to live a mundane life (they grew up sneaking into abandoned buildings for fun, c'mon), but Sarah Rogers falling deathly ill wasn't on their bingo card for the year. Seeing her in the hospital made Bucky realize that he'd never addressed the deep rooted trauma of his own father passing, and he wasn't prepared to go down that rabbit hole. At all. He knew they'd make it out okay, they always did in typical SteveandBucky fashion. Still, he was absolutely terrified for the upcoming months.

They had won. That was it. The world was changing, because Jericho had won, and now androids could live in harmony with humans— would be the description of a cheesy fairytale where all the main characters rode off into the sunset, and everything was covered in gold and perfect. They had won, that was true. But, people were going to take years to change, and adapt. Androids were still being mistreated, abandoned, denied shelter because locals didn’t want ‘dangerous deviants’ in their neighborhood. One thing that was certain, was they could be united by their heartache, by their pain, despite the color they bled.
So, these are their stories. The tales of a boy who didn’t know what he wanted, until he found it standing right in front of him; family. The tales of a man whose own prejudices wouldn’t even blind him when he found love somewhere he never expected it; in an android.
